So you're trolling here with your little protest and making gameplay for other players worse at the moment just because a proposed change currently still in Test Center is something you don't agree with?

Sorry, but if I were an in-game CSR or something, I'd be banning all you "protesters" for a week or so for disrupting gameplay for people who have better things to do than whine about things that possibly might not happen.

No trolling - an announcement.

And you are not an in-game CSR and its a good thing because you have no concept of what it means to be a paying customer.

Um...That was about the stupidest thing I've heard on the forums in the past few min...

I am a paying customer, dingus.

Please elaborate on this statement if you meant something different, because frankly, it makes little to no sense as it sounds right now.

Would you ban the Wookiees who protested in Coronet to get their wookiee armor?
People created characters and had a peaceful protest to inform the population that teh issue was important enough that they'd take time to sit instead of playing.

The Test Center Merchant change effects all ranges of professions and has quite an impact on every customer.
Informing the majority of playres who are happy with the game and do not check the forums with a demonstration at a starport is fine by me in my book.

Sorry I saw the thread too late to participate.

The merchant nerf was a PR stunt.

4 parts.

#1. Devs realize they need to stop people from using vendors for storage, and cluttering up database.
#2. Devs put obviously insanely low limits on TC
#3. Community outcry (temporary)
#4. Devs say that make the limits higher, and look like heros.

But its a change that they say needs to happen. And honestly, they know the situation better then we do. I hope your protest goes well, and you guys get a much larger item limit. But as the merchant correspondent has said, there is a limit coming, but the size is not yet final.

Im split on the change, vendors of non-crafters need to go, and there needs to be item limits. But the limit they are putting up now is too low. My favorite WS has a huge selection of weapons, and I'd hate to see him unable to have both speed/damage sliced weapons, of every kind that people want to buy.

This will put a end to the few WS who actully stock full crates of gernades also. Why put up a crate of gernades that might last for a week, when you can put up some sure sellers instead.

Um... how does it make the gameplay worse? If anything it should make it better - most people are against this proposed change...

No, hippies would have chained themselves to the Xwings to try and stop the war.

This is more of an example of Washington Special interest groups trying to stop a law from being passed

Personally, i dont think of the merchant change as a much of a nerf as it is, more like, Forcing those uber weaponsmiths and armorsmiths to take merchant again, so they can sell thier wares, and stop domonating the market. Because as it stands, the elite weaponsmith (insert random name who has played entire time on your current server) a long time ago, took master merchant, placed 5 vendors outside coronet, listed them on the planetary map, then dropped merchant totally, only kept enough skill points invested so they can keep making thier trade item, even tho they dropped, and hence forgot thier merchant skills. Allowing them to grind another template with thier other skillpoints so they can effectivelly solo or partner the creatures they need to make the high end weapons or armor, to keep them on top.

1. master weaponsmith with unlimited item vendors whichleaves new people who are taking weaponsmith almost no chance of competing

2. the ability to grind another template and hunt/farm the components needed to be able to make the elite items, whichleaves new weaponsmiths almost no chance of competing

3. the ability to make as many items as they want and place them on any of thier vendors, which leaves new weaponsmiths almost no chance of competing

the merchant changes will be a good thing for new people who are coming into the game to be able to specialize and compete, by forcing the "uber" poeple who have been playing since day 1 to have to take merchant again and with a limit on the amount of items they can sell, will force them to specialize alot more, and allow newer players the ability to get a foot hold on the already elitist market.

Now people will obviously flame me for "why do i want "random noob" to be able to compete", well the way it is currently unless you started close to day 1, you have virtually no chance to get a foot hold on the craftsman market in swg, and hence not allowing ppl the ability to explore new proffessions. I know many people who hate combat and would rather craft, not being able to sell their wares makes them move onto another game, where they can have fun and a chance to compete. With so many people leaving swg atm and new people not wanting to stay long in swg it will only be a matter of time before sony decides they arent making enough profit off of swg to even cover the costs of running the servers, and start downsizing/closing down the servers.

This merchant "nerf" is a very good idea, and shows that the devs are actually thinking ahead for a change, i'm all for it. Even if this isnt what they intended, this is still the effect it will have.......

Ok, i'm done trying to explain it rationally, no you hippies can flame me irrationally, have at it

Ispi...Please read what I said.
"making gameplay for other players worse at the moment "
In other words, I was referring to the fact that they were intentionally lagging Theed even more than it already is for thie little "protest."

I think Ikhys- says it best, really.

Besides, I read on a topic TH started that the Devs are looking at a lot of the recent feedback on many different announced changes(Merchant nerf, recurring macros, etc), and as for the Merchant nerf, they are looking at increasing the item limit already.

BTW.
I laughed out loud when I read that some CSRs threatened to ban the people in this little protest.
Only thing I'd have done different if I were them is ban the leader of the protest first, then threaten to ban more if they didn't break it up.
