Try hitting ALT again while viewing your desktop (with game reduced), the curser is most likely wedged in the upper left corner as a result of being locked by the ALT+TAB command.

BTW, this is off topic for Tech Support Forum I think, so it's likely to get locked. Maybe not.

I run Win 98 SE myself and has the very same problem.

Thing is; pressing alt or any of the other options doesn't work. The mouse cursor is not available at desktop when I play SWG, period. No solution so far... still hoping.

I have this same problem and TSR_Chad couldn't help me fix it but I have a clever temporary solution that does allright when I'm in galaxies and want to surf the net with my mouse... (I use windows ME btw)

Before you go into galaxies, open up a page of internet explorer (or whatever ya use). Go to a website that has popups. Now you can go into galaxies. Now, if you want to shrink the game to surf the net or whatever, shrink the game and press F5 at the website you just brought up with the popup to refresh it...It Must Have A PopUp and don't want for the popup to come up.

Quickly by using Alt-Tab get back into the game as quick as possible...

Shortly (like 5 seconds-10 seconds depending on your page) the pop up will come up and it will automatically reshrink the game, releasing your mouse from the game. You have to do this every time you need to use your mouse in IE.

(it may take you a few times to get it right, the timing and stuff...have patience)

hope that worksfor you, it works fine for me...if what I posted don't make sense feel free to PM or reply to this thread.It took me a long time to figure out how that worked, did it first by accident. I know all the keyboard commands without the mouse to surf the net without using my mouse but having a mouse is even better.

I'm going to try what you guys suggested above though, hope that works but everything TSR Chad suggested didn't work.

Your mouse is probably stuck in the top left corner of your screen. Just click the left button once and you will be abvle to move it again. (Well, thats what happens when i tab out)

Some of my pet peeve bugs:
•Armorsmith protection layers were not converted with the CU.
•Ship Details window does not close when you click "Travel" resulting in the message "You have lost the target. Closing interface."

I had this problem awhile back and there was nothing I could do to get my curser on my desktip. Even Tech help couldn't help me. It finally cleared up by itself after publish 7 or 8, I don't remember which one.

And what is up with that smell?
