Thread: What if I don't want to speak to the old man?

Okay, so say this publish hits and I am somehow eligible for the old man to walk up to me. Can I just end convo and be done with it? Or do I have to go through a bunch of convo screens to deny him?

Just wondering.

At Christmas I got 2 holos for free. So I took a look at one. I never tried to Master it, don't care to, just wanted to know. Wouldn't you know it was one of those profs I started at launch and dropped a long time ago, LOL.

Anyway, I collect badges, I have for a long time. The fewer profession ones the better I felt, as I only Mastered those that I wanted to. I stayed with set of 3 of them for 6 months, and I am still one of those. I was a Master Ranger for quite awhile. I felt that the exploration badges were an excellent thing for me to have as a Ranger. Professions, I only have 5 badges. I currently have 72 badges. Rumor has it I have surpassed the minimum badge count. Rumor also has it there needs to be select badges earned.

I have not kept up with anything regarding getting Jedi, so if the badge part changed please let me know.

However, I don't want to visit the village to get Jedi. I do not want Jedi. My Rodian is happy as he is.

So the question is: "Do I have to speak to the old man if/when he visits?"

Something I think a number of players would like to know. Also, I posted it here in the game guide forum, as this is not a profession or Galaxy related question. (okay partially profession, but more of a rejection of profession )

Thank you for your time

Sadly if you ignore him, he would just keep coming back, but he dosn't bother you. Or if you want to be rid of him forever, take the crystal, kill the spawn that attacks you, and just throw them in the bank (in case you ever change your mind)

You can kill the gamer, but you can never kill the game.

i don't really want to do the whole jedi quest stuff, but i think the second character slot would be of value to me, since politician is taking up too many skill points for my liking on my main character. so i will probably do whatever the minimum required quests is to get the second character slot, and then just say screw it to all that force stuff. it's just an ancient hokey religion believed in by fools anyway.

Okay, thanks, I will just speak to him and get it over with.

Thank you for your response

He will simply come to you wherever you are roughly 1km outside of any given city. You cant' be in a city for him to come.

If it has anything to do with badges no one really knows. Thats definatley the rumor.

No you don't have to talk to him. He simply shows up mumbles something to you, then that's it. You need to converse with him to get the crystal.

Worst case scenario is he shows up near you whenver you leave a city, and if that annoys you... then talk to him get his stinkin crystal and delete it.

I can't see why anyone wouldn't want to do the force sensitive quests. Even if you don't want to be jedi you can increase your crafting, combat, or medical skills. This fixes the complaint that people have had for a long time where there is no advancement once you max out your character. You know you want to, you're just speaking politician.

Is it just a normal jedi crystal? Is it anything special?

I think it has new graphics, more like the force crystal cave crytals.

Just something you need to get into the village, along with the datapads you loot from the easy sith missions afterwards from what I understand.

It has a unique appearnce compared to normal crystals, and instead of being used in a lightsaber it's used to open your quest journal.

Actually I do not want to do the quests. There are many other games out there that will allow me to be a Jedi, although not just FS.
I play this game for the chance to live in this universe. Not be something that I am not. As I have stated in a different post, this universe is full of numerous stories, and majority of them don't revolve around a Jedi, or even the GCW. They revolve around an individual's desire to stay alive and to live. You can call it RP if you want, although I don't RP as much as I should.

Think of it this way, that kid in the EU books that works for Karrde, the slicer what is his name Gent? Think about his life experience before he joined up with Karrde, or even Karrde himself. Now take those experiences and apply them to some unknown person in this universe. Maybe a simple planetary security guard, or a transport pilot. They lived their lives everyday in this world, and they got along fine.

You could write stories of any number of people in this universe. And this game allows us to live a story from this universe. My character is not going down any of the paths of Jedi, not even the village. Why? Because he was not made to be one. He was made just to simply make his way in the universe. Just to live. Nothing more, nothing less.

If others want to do the quests, then they can. I just wanted to make sure that if I told the man to go away, that I wouldn't have to tell him over and over again. If I do, then I will take his little present and end it right there.

Like ive told some guildmates...if I see an old man approaching im gonna /lunge2...nick his zimmer frame and batter him with it, then take his crystal and shove it where the sun doesnt shine.

If I get a crystal I know I will be tempted to follow SWG's little path of distraction.
