To any GM's out there. Could you make this a stickey. I think the resulting guide would be worth the space if I get imput of other pitfalls. I could click the keep this message at the top, but I would feel presumtuous clicking it and finding that nobody is interested in posting their pitfalls and I've seen people asking to have their post stickied, so I guess it don't work anyway.

We've all suffered them. Some of them are really nasty, resulting in being broke and destitute. We can't save ourselves the mysery of these but we can save others if we post these pitfalls or links to lists of them. Please, I need you to post your game pitfalls so I can make up a guild that will help everyone. I don't beg often, but I'm begging now, not for your stuff, not for credits but for you to share your knowledge and save others from our fate. p l e a s e !!!!

Here's mine ....

Armor pitfalls

1. Jackets and chest armor receive four times or more damage than other pieces. If you like me, end up checking your bracer, assuming that your other armor pieces suffered the same deteriation you are headed for trouble! Your chest piece will hit condition 0 and be unrepairable well before your other pieces even suffer 25% damage!!

I suffered this one, having to spend 150k for a new set of ubese for my master doc/TKA and another character. As a result of this combined with spending the last of my credits on radioactive instead of reactive, this doc is out of good buff packs, cannot afford to buy resources for the packs and has to use his junk packs with mediocre resources getting shockingly poor results such as an action buff pack that buffs for only 512 and a lousey20 minute duration!!! I must have grabbed the wrong item somehow, but since I used it with my good resources I'm stuck with them. In short, because of this nasty pitfall the doctor who wanted to res and help folks not just rake in money buffing is out of business. I'll be ok tho, I'm getting missions for 10.5 k and 20 minutes is enough to do four missions. This one left me so angry at SOE that I was ready to quit SWG and would have dropped SWG like a bad habit if it werent' so much fun. As it is, I'm canceling my everquest account, as vengence and the fact that I never play it anyway. I only kept it hoping I could get into EQ2 beta but they will NOT send me my confirmation code and I know they are not blocked by my isp or email client because I put them on the allowed list.

2. Armor should be repaired when it has suffered 25% damage OR it will not be able to be repaired up to it's normal condition. Example: You might have new armor that was 20k/20k and let it suffer more than 25% damage and after repairs end up with armor that is 19k/19k or *worse*.

Battle ..

Make sure you have enough stims or other stuff pulled out of crates before entering battle for you cannot remove anything from a crate while in battle. You will try and try, seeing NO message that you can't draw a stim in bettle until you are dead and angrier than a wet hen.

Slicing. Suspected pitfall. If you slice anything it seems to be uninsurable! I had my stuff sliced and now I get no insureable items. This is the only thing that I can think of that is different. Can anyone confirm this?

Now please, it's your turn. What are your pitfall?

Thanks!

I generally carry two sets of sliced armor with me (Ubese and composite, so I can switch to the most effective type depending on whom or what I'm hunting) along with quite a variety of sliced weapons, and I'm able to insure all of it with no problems at all.

I'd say submit a bug report if you're still unable to insure your sliced items. Something sounds a little wonky there to me.
