OK, I'm sure this has been posted before, but I need some assistance please. Where do I take the broken datapads and stuff to trade them in? I thought they were supposed to go to Junk Dealers, but I can't seem to find any that will accept the items. They just want to buy them for 34 credits. Can someone help me out with a WP or something on this? I'd really appreciate it.

You collect the other parts and make working datapads. You can find them on aakuan soldiers in the Lost Aqualish Cave on Talus.

I think that's what they're called. Regardless, the things you kill in that cave are the only things that drop the required loot parts to turn a broken datapad into a working one.
