Why would they when they get more money out of people buying two copies, and paying two subscriptions?

Not everyone can afford to pay two monthly fees.
Besides, there are still people who would buy another account to simply have a third character.

How about paying additional fee a month for more lots? that is what it comes down to for most people. You want to have lots to do things with, so you buy an additional character. Why not offer a service that for an extra $5.00 you get 10 more lots, so your character now has 20 lots. Enough for a guild hall and harvesters, and factories.


I had 2 characters, and the main reason for it was lots, I needed more of them.

Tough luck... if you cant afford them... SOE is out to make money, I really dont think they would want to give you stuff cheaper, just because you are poorer..

I don't know if anyone at SOE thought of this, but why not start up a service like the character transfer service, but make it for buying a second character slot? There are many people who want to do the FS quests simply to unlock a second character slot on their main galaxy to play as-- but little is known about the quests and it seems to be a lot of work to do unless you're going to be a Jedi. So why not have a service where you charge people for another character?
The way it could work is SOE charges maybe $30-45 to open up a second character slot on the galaxy of the person's choosing. There could be some rules where if you do the FS quests after buying a second slot that you will not unlock a third slot. And if you already have a second character slot (be it from pre-Publish 10 or after) you can not buy another slot on that account.

Such a service would not hault people from doing the FS quests either, because now those who would do the FS questsare the people who really want to be a Jedi and be Force-sensitive.

This would give people a way to have another character on their galaxy if they can't afford another monthly fee. It's a handy little feature. And it's a way for SOE to make more money.

See, it's a marketing strategy thing. No they wontbe getting as much money at once, but more people will be able to get them. Even if you have to pay an extra $5 a month for another character slot (which would make them the most money in the long-run).
Think of it this way, one person pays an extra $15 for two accounts, so that's $30 per month that SOE gets from one person. There are five people who can't afford $30 a month, but would be willing to chalk in an extra $5 a month for another character slot. That's an extra $100 SOE is getting from those five people. Though instead of SOE getting $30 for two accounts from one person, they're only getting $20 for one account per person with two character slots, they're getting more money because more people can do it.
If there are five people, and only two of them can afford $30 a month, but all of them can afford $20 a month, which will make SOE the most money?

Yup. It's another way to decrease the Jedi population and make more people happy. Plus get SOE its all-important money. It's a win-win situation
