Their seems to be much debate on the BH forum about how AP is calculated vs Jedi.
Example does your Laser Carbine when it does hit past their insanely high saber block hit for the 25%*25% damage modify since they dont have any AP resist?
Does wearing armor vs a jedi make any difference to their saber attack as their Saber is AP2?
I assume that you do benefit on the damage calc you don't have any LS protection but think the raw damage number would be higher if you did not wear armor.
Your input would be appreciated...

Well, I would think that since you don't have any Lightsaber resistance on your armor it's going to go right thru. The only thing that would reduce damage would be something like Melee Mitigration 1,2 and 3.
Or atleast thats how I see it, this is just my completely biased oppinion

I have no idea about the saber blocking issue....but I do know that if you attack anything with a AR of zero.....the AP of the weapon used to attack will not benefit from it's AP value.
If you have AP2 on your weapon and your target has AR0......then your attack will not get the bonus damage from having AP2......you only get the AP2 bonuse when you attack a target with AR1 or above. Also, their has been some debates on how it all is calculated when attacking a vulnerability. I heard that attacking a vulnerability makes all AP values obsolete.....basically it would be full damage of the weapon with not AP bonus.
At this point, the only way to reduce lightsaber damage is with synthsteak, mitigation1,2, 3and pistoleer/fencers dodge ability.
However, mandolorian armor is supposed to be resistant to lightsaber damage....who knows if the devs are gonna make this a part of the game or not........can anyone confirm the bounty hunter armor from the DWB has lightsaber resist or not....I haven't seen the armor myself.

I hate to be off-topic, but, when I first saw this thread, I thought "AP Calc" meant AP Calculus. And the thread was about like, "Which would you rather do, be a Jedi, or take AP Calculus?". And I was preparing to chime in "Calculus > the Force", or something similar.
Hehe.. ah-heh... heh?

that is not completely correct. it's not the armor rating of the target, but rather the resistance, and then the armor. if i use a t21 (ap3, energy) against a target with 0 resist to energy and no armor, i get no ap bonus. if he has 1% energy (or whatever damage type being used) , then i get the ap bonus. if he has 0 resist and armor, i get the ap bonus (this is a guess, never found anything with armor and no resists
nothing resists ls, which means ls gets no ap bonus.
