Thread: Bounty Hunter not good enough anymore?

When I first started playing SWG I was so sure that I wanted to be a BH, b/c they were the coolest and could kill anything. Althought recently it's seeming to change. Is bounty hunter still the best profession, or is something else.

Please someone tell me if I should still become a BH, cuz I'm almost there, advise me on what to become if I want to enjoy the game fully.

bounty hunter has not been the best for a looong time. If you want to do any serious pvp the only thing that bh has to offer is eyeshot. As of now, rifleman is the best ranged class, but melee seems to be the best overall. Teras kasi and fencer seem to be top pvp melee professions for now.

I personally would not be one of the professions that everyone else is.......er sorry not everyone but 90% of everyone is such as any of the melee profs. I personally am a cm and a commando. Now before everyone flames me let me say that i dont pvp. I find this to be a great combo for pve and the game in general. And i know if i did pvp it would be a great combo as well. I think your decision depends on how ya play. Pve or pvp. Role player or yourself. etc.... But in my opinion the last thing the game needs is another melee power player. Really kills the spirit of the game and the need for people to interact when everyone is so damn l33t. Just my opinion nothing personal. So i say follow your heart and do what sounds fun or challenging, or maybe if your a roleplayer something that would work well in tandom with groups or with your friends or guilds needs.

I agree, I hate seeing nothing but melee class players running around. Its not a star wars game, its a melee wars game. Before that, it was a CH wars game. At least back then it was somewhat fun because you could use a pistol or carbine and still be somewhat effective in combat. But the fact of thematter is that ranged professions suck. The devolpers completely ignored them for over a year now. Sure, carbineer got a little work, but is it a good ranged profession? Nope. Take pistoleer for instance, one of the most worthless professions out there, has only 2 specials that work effectively, has yet to have anything done to it to make it even somewhat effective. All that we know is that it will be fixed in the combat revamp. blah blah blah. So why would you want to spend the next couple months with a crappy profession when you can join the rest of the fotm and enjoy yourself and be able to take advantage of the higher level content out there?

You know something's wrong with the game when everyone says to become a rifleman or any of the melee professions.

I have never hated a class like I hate BH. I'm grinding it in my quest to get ulta-stupid lucky and open before pub 10 (not going to happen, I know). It's the worst profession I've done and I've done a lot of them. Whoever came up with the investigation line and the time sinks it represents should be shot in the foot. I don't want em to die....just suffer like I am as I grind through the last two boxes of investigation.
