I would think that this should be corrected slightly to be
Once you complete the Padawan trials you unlock the 2nd slot

That's pretty much right, im not sure bout that phase thing in the village, i havent ever heard of that, and it isnt happenning on TC2, maybe it will be implemented later. And yes, the village is basically a bunch of quests to get FS skills, as for the conversion and how many quests it takes to get a skill box, i dont know yet, as that hasnt been implemented in TC2 yet either, ill edit my post as TC2 changes.

When you get the 2nd character is what I am most confused about. Starting the padawan trials sounds like you are becoming a jedi. They have said you will have the option of taking your primary jedi, but if you chose not to you will have y our new account that you can eventually level up to become jedi.

From what I understand you have to start from the begining (badges, quests, FS xp, etc) if you want your second character to be a jedi.

Orb,
I agree the new toon will have to go through all the steps first.
My sticking point is:
do you unlock the 2nd toon slot when you complete 24 force sensitive skills?
do you unlock the 2nd toon slot when you complete the padawan trials?
It may not be a big difference, but to me it is noticable. If I only want my main to be force sensitive and not the jedi, there is no reason for me to do the padawan trials.

I'd like to know how you'll get the visit from the Old Man to start your FS path. I mean, currently on TC2 you just create a new character and like five minutes later he finds you. But when the system goes live, how will it work?I've heard some people say you need badges... if so, how many badges? Then I've heard others say you simply need to find the right POI. What about those of us that have been to every POI? Or maybe the Old Man will just randomly spawn...

Oh and in the dev chat from yesterday, they said there is 3 cycles and each cycle is about 9 weeks, so you are looking at atleast 6 months before people unlock with the new system, this is very good indeed if this is truly the case.

its good if you are actually in the game for some immersion and not a massively multiplayer Jedi game.

Here is my current understanding:
1. You have a character you play him (turns out this seems to mostly just getting badges)and he overtime goes through 6 levels of force sensitivity. Once he "glows with the force" a stranger comes and meets you, and you have to do 2 or 3 things to gain admittance to the village of aurellia. You are now force sensitive.
2. When you get to the village you get quests. When you complete a quest this unlocks your ability to train in a force sensitive skill. I believe there are 4 trees with 4 branchs of skills you can learn, thus there would be 16 quests total?
3. Once you complete a quest you level up the tree you open by converting normal XP to FS XP. So for a combat FS skill you convert different types of combat XP to gain the FS skills. So the grind is not truly gone.
4. Some of the quests are dependent on the phase of the village. Sounds like there are 3 phases of the village that will last 3 weeks each? Not sure if you can only do 1 quest per phase or a couple.
5. You acquire 24 force sensitive skills. Once you get the 24th box you have unlocked. I believe the 2nd character is created here right? Once you unlock you can choose to become a padawan.
6. You level up through padawan and go do the jedi trials to become a jedi.
7. Once you are a jedi you level up some and can choose to do the knight trials.
8. Once you are a jedi knight you are in the force ranking system which is PVP only based. You have to be in the FRS to get a seat on the council?

Not all of the info about what is going to be in the FS quest has been released, but that about covers what we know so far, yes.
