Sometimes (today as an example)when I try to use the /loot all command to loot a humanoid I have killed, the system gives me an error message that basically says: You cannot open that container (it then names an NPC). However, I can open the corpse's radial menu and loot all just fine. Some days, this never happens and I can use my loot all macro without problem - but today (and I have had other days), the /loot all command (whether in my macro or just typed in) does not function. What is going on here?

I noticed this last night.. Seemed to be a distant from corpse thing or so I thought. I moved closer and it worked. /shrug Just another thing that has issues.. lol

you have to be within 15m of the corpse to be able to loot, sometimes with serverlag you can be in range according to you display but the server thinks you are stil farther away. so step closer and happy looting

I had a problem one night where the /loot all always thought I had something else selected when I didn't, so it never worked. It fixed itself and started working 30 minutes later

There may have been a stealth nerf. The day after Patch 10, I had to be within 8m to loot. (Haven't done much looting since then; maybe it's back to 15?)

This has nothing to do with range. I am right on top of the NPC - visually and by the range indicator (not to mention I was in melee range when I killed the NPC). Further, the problem is that the "name" listed in the error message is NOT the name of the targetted NPC I killed. The name is always some other NPC name - thus it appears to be some sort of targetting info bug.

My loot macro still works to about 16 meters. Sometimes the server load will cause it to apparently pause, but its still there.

Ok, here is an update. I just logged out and rebooted my computer. That apparently solved the problem - /loot all is now working again. This implies to me that something fouls periodically (for some unknown reason) and requires a reboot of the computer (logging off and back on did not solve the problem as I tried that first).

Question...what's the diff when u use /loot vs /loot all? I use /loot only and it seems to completely loot the NPC.

What's unequal footing with a loot macro? It's simple to create - if you can't figure it out, then the only inequality is that you're less intelligent than other players. And the game's not going to make the rest of us dumber (except maybe by reading posts like that one), so if you want "equal footing", learn how to create a simple one-command macro.
