Yes this happened to me also. It almost makes me scared to bleed them. As a MBH/MP, I find the assasins difficult. Firstly, the BH has no decent medium AP except for the Laser Carbine, which I alwayskeep in inventory, powered up. When I roll up on the scene of an assassin,I first equip my PuP'd DE10 and stack bleed and fire on him. With a 450d DE10, its a decent way to start off , dropping dual 400 tick damages. I then switch out to my carbine and basically sprayshot/fireKD him until my torso shot or bleed fail then I rinse and repeat. I like to carry a fresh stack of PSG with me for when I do see the assassins, because they're carbines put quite a hurting on me. WhenI see one pull out a carb, I DoT him and unequip my weapon, which usually gets any of them to run up into melee range, and theyre AP doesnt seem to be as high.
I have looted nearly 1.5 suits in the past 2 weeks since I have found this guide. I have customised my route and I have yet to find a day whenI see no spawns, but I often have to work a bit harder to get them.
I start off exiting the mining outpost on my flashspeeder (Ive had three of them die so its nice to be able to call one in an instant for 20K) with my radar on 512, and my PuPd DE10 in hand. I do the usual ride up and down the coast, zigzagging from the beach to about 200m into the forested area, covering a wider area and giving spawns more time to pop. This method works great for me. Once I hit the northern map boundary,I then hug it as I proceed N-NW along the invisible barrier. There are frequently large spawns of Black Sun right off of the map. If they are within 65m, I Torso Shot them one at a time and run about 70M deeper into the map, and unequip my weapon so they will close the distance and I can begin firing again. If you dont drag them far enough onto the map, they have a habit of sliding back across the barrier (I've lost 3 this way) when theyre dead or running back towards they're spawn spot and the DoT tick kills them there. For the ones I cannot reach,I pull out my trusty R3 Advanced and sick him on them. He seems to have no trouble passing off of the map and once he gets the first attack in,I recall him. When the BS gets in range, he gets DoT'd and Ikite him back onto the map the usual way. It is a very rare day that I do not find 3-5 spawns of Thug, Henchman and Assassins sitting in no mans land off of the map. When I have hit the upper left hand corner, I proceed back towards the moutain, cutting right over it and circling the crown a time or two, all the while dodging the insane amount of creature spawns that pop up there. If no BS are to be had on the mountain, I head towards the Jedi Enclave, then back to the MO. I almost ALWAYS pick up another 1-2 spawns on the way back using this route. My suit is nearly completed in 2 weeks,I only need the right bracer. I have sold a pair of leggings, traded off 2 spare helmets and a set of gloves andI still have extra bicep sitting around. The irony of it allis that not more than 5 days before I found this guide, I was complaining that since I dont have uber credits, or a FOTM stacker template, that I would never own BH armor or similar high end loots. It still amazes me when I login and see my toon wearing the BH armor i've drooled about in the mall so many times.
Thanks again for the great guide, and to everyone else, keep up the hunt. It gets lonley and tedious sometimes, but theyres a great pride (for me at least) in stepping out of a bustling starport wearing the third rarest and most coveted armor in the galaxy. Especially when it looks so good with my MBH tag.

Great guide, it has helped me get three parts of Bounty Hunter armor from Yavin IV (two BH Left Biceps and a BH Chest Plate).
I only have one question, for wandering along the beaches, there is two ways to go when heading north:
1. Head accrost the river easy of the Mining Outpost and then north (ran into a spawn of three, no armor).
2. Head soulth west along the beach till it turns north (found a assassin, no armor).
I was woundering what was the best way to go for finding the most spawns. Oh and 5 stars for you.

I noticed the guide mentioned to be ungrouped and to possibly increase the loot drop rate. Personally, I use a 10K HAM pet to tank for me while I spam headshots from afar. Does anyone know if being grouped with my pet will negatively affect the loot drop rate? I wear BE clothes instead of armor when I'm in the field so the tank is a real lifesaver. I'd hate to have to ungroup because it's much harder to monitor the tank's HAM without the group display.

Oddly enough, my best loot days were when I had another guildie in my party. I looted 3 pieces on my first spawn, and 4 days later I took out a nov rifleman and got 2 pieces on the first spawn. Today I was out, killed 3 off themap spawns and founf 4 more spawns on my way back to the MO. I found a spawn that probably would have dropped a few more pieces but I got DBd when I hit my downer and the 2nd assassin rushed me. I forgot to insure the set I had on me! However, its not a total loss. I got modded leggings!

Just thought i would add a note. I ran into a lone assassin on yavin 4 and he pulled a laser carbine and was hitting me for 1k with specials. So i did the old bleed/burn and run tactic. As i was coming back to finish him off, either the burn or the angler next to him killed him, and I was dinied loot rights. : / I killed at least half of his health with normal specials. Wondering if anyone has run into this before.
I had this happen to me too, when some reb npcs joined in on an Assasin I was killing. I did the majority of the damage but didn't get looting rights.

Persistance pays off gentlemen!! After my first uneventful hour of hunting, I ran across no less than 10 assassins and 20 assorted BS, aquiring my 4th helmet and the coveted Right Bracer, which completes my first set! Its got great mods on it...too bad I cant wear it into battle.

Great guide...5 stars for you. Today was the first day I went looking, I walked north-west along the beach (Yavin4)and found about 5 spawns within about 1 hour. All the spawns were only 2 npcs per...I am only Tkm with no healing skills so personally I think 2 Black Suns at a time is enough. I looted one bracer piece(from a Thug)and some credits.
