Thread: Friday Feature February 25th – Combat Upgrade More New Weapons

Guys - please stop with the doom and gloom for no reason. All of the professions are getting a lot of love in the Combat Upgrade.
The information is just going to come out a little bit at a time as it is ready. Just because you don't see something is not a reason to assume the worst (thats just a bad habit =p )
MichailArris wrote:So one question Thunderheart. What new weapons are Commandos going to see? Or is the Commando profession going to get kicked to the curbside again?
Well, rumor has it that the BH revamp will require somthing from Commando....SOOOO, it's a safe bet that Commandos will be ignored and nerfed. It just part of the fun for a BH.

So this is the information that SOETyrant had us all excited about from the Stratics chat?
So you guys goin to step up to the plate an admit you've delayed this thing to meet a May release? Its amazing we get nothing not even small fixes as we wait month after month and you guys continue to gladly recieve our subscriptions. Truly wonderful PR.
Yep been saying since October. they are going to try and take advanatge of enthusiasm from the movie to generate new interest for the game. Its sad but I believe they knew all along when they were going to release this thing and the "few weeks" "soon" comments were intended to do just what they did keep everyone paying till the spring of 2005. Now they trickle out info until the end of Feb when they start ALPHA then we see it progress as they gear for the May release. It actually turns out to have been a very successful stringout campaign, unfortunately thatmeans we are very likely to see it used more in the future.

Why would we see it used more in the future? There are no other big SW events AFTER the release of EPIII for them to target a release around. Therefore it would make not sense to try the 'string along' method in the future. Unless, of course, some OTHER MMORPG announces a new expansion they want to pre-empt... ![]()
You're right there's not a big release like Ep3 in the future but it doesn't mean that won't continue to use the technique to meet their marketing plans.

Your friendly neighborhood PHP / MySQL programmer and network engineer agrees.

I've heard quite a few rumors of a Star Wars tv series.... And there is still the EU, with all the books. Ep III is not the last of Star Wars material. There are ppl like me, who love it so much, who continue to pay for it.

Is this all of the new weapons or can we be expecting a couple more?
That acid sword.......*drool*
edit: so can Bounty Hunters also be expecting some new weapons?
Message Edited by JediGohan on 02-25-2005 05:08 PM
errr.... ummmm... we can use most of the pistols and carbines now....
true, but i'd like some special Bounty Hunter weapons like Jango's blasters from Ep.2 at maybe Pistols 4, and maybe other guns that bh's used, i'm sure some of the guns that the bounty hunters carried in ESB could be used as a reference.
Maybe not a lot of people want to be running down the streets of Theed or Bestine firing their weapon and some civilian is thinking, uh oh it's a bounty hunter.
But I do.....![]()

OH NO THE SKY IS FALLING!
Oh, nm, just another troll.
SOE is out to make money just like any other company...like the company you work for (IF you have a job...). It is a marketing technique, May is actually a pretty good date IMO. Beats August.
Never said sky was falling it has proven to be a profitable technique for them, but I think they should be honest about it. Any wagers on a May release? Don't know what the personal attack is for (if I have a job?) but suit yourslef. names don't bother me I'm proud to be a troll.
