Two points:

* Look for filling 50 vercupti (double-buff) which means you can eat two (or at least shove more other food in).

* If you have just bought an AV-21, do NOT go rushing into PvP with it parked behind you.

Even a small ray of hope can bring one's away from the Darkness....

And you just did! I suck in pvp cauz i dont know what pvp is all about (except the part with the CM being deadly). I never lasted more then 10 secs in front of anyone, but now..... You illuminated me on how those status effects really worked and how damage is working (i got the 2 types of mitigation and no clues what it does actually :smileymad.

Thanx a lot to those who participated to this, and thanx to you Katchiko you won 2 droid parts !

ps: i wasso bad at pvpthat i nicknamed myself as a war name; 'Keelko theRunt,Who'suchawusss'

ok. so there are confirmed hard caps on defs of 125/150

how about states deffs?

was told that all states have a 10% chance of sticking & as a result, anything over 90 def v DK as an example is wasted

is this true?

Just for those of you who are wondering why she isn't answering any more questions, she mentioned that she canceled her subscription. But if she reads this on a friends account or something, just wanted to say thanks and good job!

Great guide, but I just wanted to add something...... you said that "Only Riflemen use posture change (up), and it’s only a defence against other Riflemen who are prone. As such, posture-up moves will hardly ever be used on you. They don’t matter."

But this isn't true. If someone is dizzy, and they get a posture change (down or up) they fall over. Since pistoleer has absolutly no posture change up def, riflemen could easily change their posture up. And if those pistoleers are dizzy'd, they they will fall over without having a chance of defending. Now of course if you stand up, then a rifleman could'nt use posture up, and you would be ok, but if your aranged prof (besides rifles, since they get posture up def)and your prone or on your knees, watch out for riflemenand dizzy because you will have no posture change up def and they could use posture change up and make you fall. I used this a lot in ranged duels, and I would slaughter pistoleers, carbineers, BH, and commandos since we would both go prone and just fire away at each other. All i had to do was dizzy em and then knock em up (sorry not trying to sound bad). This doesnt work as well against commandos and carbineers, since commandos tend to run up and flame you without kneeling or going prone, and carbineers like to kite, even if your ranged because they have high accuracy while moving, and other ranged profs don't. So they stay standing. Overall point? If you have no posture change up def, and your kneeling or prone, then watch out for riflemen and dizzy.

I just finished reading this and I must say that is one of the most impressive threads I have read in quite some time.

I have done a bit of PvP, but I learned tons from this.

Thank you very much. It's great to see contributions to the community like this.

-Know your opponent: If you PVP you’ll soon encounter the same people over and over. Those are usually the hardcore PVPers who often seem to be gods compared to you, when you first start off in PVP. Sometimes with skills but mostly with experience, they will walk all over you, and you’ll be a small bump on their road to glory.

Use this time to see what they do, how they work. PVP teams usually consist of the same people, using the same tactic, over and over. Their tactics very rarely change because a lack of competition has made them tot self-confident or lazy. Most players play with a pattern.

If you can identify that pattern, you can use it. Good players don’t play by pattern; they will change frequently, always in motion. Those are the hardest opponents you’ll ever meet. They are unpredictable, relying on instinct, experience and their ability to read your moves. These are the most fun to fight. NEVER assume you’ll win. Always at the very least think of your opponent as your equal, in skill and abilities, for that way you won’t be surprised if he puts up a fight. Even the smallest child can have a lucky break and stab you in the gut.

A good habit to get into is to size up your opponent with little burst attacks and see how he reacts. Start by attacking and running, watching what he does. This can give you a reasonable picture of your enemy. True combat isn’t decided by muscles or weapons, but by using one’s mind.

Here Here! I wish I had seen this guide months ago when I was a wee little n00b. I started as an artisan with master commando for the longest time, then migrated to TKM/Master Commando. After I maxxed out all available combat xp I ended up migrating to TKM/MD and have finally learned the things written in this guide (the hard, but rewarding way.) With the addition of poison and disease buffs to the doc repetoire I am regularly able to stomp all over CMs as easilly as jedi knights. In fact, the last CM I ran into while I had a TEF hit me with a sick health poison that was taking off 600+ a tick, but when you're post-buff health is sitting at almost 4K after a janta-enhanced buffpack 600 a tick isn't enough to stop kicking the CM in the head to heal poison. ^_^

The only downside to TKM as the sole combat profession is that only dishing out kinetic damage can be a pain, but there's always the ever annoying and lethal KD+Dizzy. At any rate, good guide! *rant* Although I have a bone to pick about PSG's... I still don't see any message about my PSG preventing any damage in combat window. /rant ^_^

lol great guide girl!! but eh, lets keep the reb/imp patronization down eh?? lol I mean, after all. of COURSE the rebs can win. they do over and over, and eventually thats how the story ends lol. I would also point out taht you do a great job of structuring your posts, making it easy for peeps to understand what it is your trying to say.

Also, someone said if your armored and see a comando, just laugh? lolololo Am master tk master comando, I duel with my guild mates alot so we can see what works best for us, and even with 87% heat resist comp armor, my 1134 max damage sliced flamer hitsthem for about 800 health wounds in about45 seconds or so, lol. thats not even counting the actuall health pool damage for the initial strike and the ticks of the dot. I love being mcomando/MTK/pistoleer 0/0/1/0 :couse I am a great , big, fat, NEWBY when it comes to PvP, and I still rock more then half my opponents lol. not to mention I can solo 2 or 3 AT-ST's without trouble, using my AP3 4000+ damage rockets lol

In conclussion, I MUST agree with the K-Girl. good stun armor, and stun PSG eliminates the effectiveness of stun damage to the point of impracticle uselessness. It's ALL about the DOT's and stat modifiers.

over and under (or SOMETHING like that)

My 2 cents ( worth about half a hill of dried out beans )

-Citroncake:
This will add 40 to accuracy for 20-ish minutes at 28 filling. Most will wonder why to bother with this food. Well, try hitting a fencer with a Center of Being loop macro, and believe me, you’ll be glad you ate this. Basically, this will give you an added bonus of 40 to-hit on the weapon you’re using at that time. In the right situation, a good food. (food)
