Naoskair, Rodian, Town Pharmacist (umm...I craft meds)

Started as marksman, hence the name, but that quickly became MedCrafting. very exciting this life of grinding, btw.

Nao wonders if the Name doc recognizes the word that was massacred to create "Naoskair"

Hey Riis,

Here's how your naming system works for me...

3-3-3, Wookiee name: Ginmarosa

4-3-4, Bothan name: Gina Cam'anca

4-2-2-2-4, Rodian: Bianie Gimarosa

1-1-1-1-1-1, Mon Calamari: Gimeaa

Trandoshan: Rissassar

Twi'lek: Bigiim Can'ach

Seems to work okay, but I must admit I chose animals for the Twi'lek one that would make it sound okay, otherwise my last name would have been Dog'rat, which just seems silly.

P.S. You mention you don't think Japanese names fit into the SW universe because of Lucas' limited use of them, but very early on you praised someone for bringing in an East African influenced name. Now, I'm not in favor of names that are too-obvious references to Japanese culture (like Kurosawa or Mitsume or Toshiro or Hiroshige or Manji), but I think that less common names can work as well as anything else. Of course I only read through the first half of this thread, so maybeyou changed or reconsidered your position on this?

This was fun, I had to try out the name generator system you had.

Kriallwha - WookieKris Sil'hale - Bothan Whaleon Kralaley - Rodian (it sounds like a **edit**! =( )

Kaaoyi - Mon Cal (I like this one a lot) Ritteossk - Trandoshan (this one too) Whkrea Pan'dir - Twi'lek

The Twi'lek one sounds like someone hacking up a hairball. It's that "Wh" thing going on with my last name. ^_^

I read up to page 15 or so, then when I checked the main message board link, I realized that this thread had grown to 44+ pages long! I stopped reading at that point, but obviously this thread isn't dying any time soon, at least not until it hits the hard capped limit for threads on this message board!

I only have two characters that I really play at the moment, so those are the only names I'll list, but I will say that when I'm creating a new character, I always find myself sitting at the creation screen for a very very long time, trying to come up with character names that fit the character in that time and place, and that I won't hate or regret weeks or months later. Of course, there are other circumstances around these names, but if I don't tell you about those, and you don't immediately notice something wrong, then it doesn't really matter, does it?

Vaelorn D'Bious (I've always thought of it as "vay-lorn"), Bothan male. Short as I could make him, so he's almost diminutive, but he's not scrawny or pudgy. Other than height, his physical characteristics are fairly "normal", as far as creation sliders go. From the start his primary goal was to become a bounty hunter, and so far he's learned master scout and master marksman, and I think I might "dabble" between bounty hunter and ranger classes. I will point out that I had no idea about Bothan clan names having marks in them, so this was pure coincidence, but probably falls short of the standards. I will also point out that I am well aware of the dubious nature of his surname, and I'm quite sure that many many people will recognize it from elsewhere, which will probably count against it as well. No history as of yet, so nothing to back up any questionable circumstances here.

Of course you'll say no to this one, but I'll list him anyway. Tomlin O'Leary, Human male. Not scrawny but not bulky either, he's an average height human and very very bald; I actually used the age slider to make him a little older, but not super old. Naturally, he has a short-trimmed red beard, green eyes, and light skin; almost stereotypical Irish. He's not a combat character. The only time he really fights anything at all is if he's attacked while running through town or checking on distant harvesters. I was going to make him a droid engineer, but I think I'll have more fun with him as a weaponsmith / merchant, at least until they add a few more things to droid engineers. He doesn't have too much history either, other than he grew up in Mos Eisley, and at one time was working as a minor droid technician for travelers, and loves to tinker with things.

I'm interested in the Star Wars universe, but I'm not really much of a "fan", so as far as standards and history go, I'm practically flying blind when it comes to things like this.
