Well, I kind of expect to get marked down on it, but I'd be interested to hear what you think of my character's name:

'Seph Iridan

Note that the 'Seph is actually a nickname and her full given name is: Ariane Persephone Iridan. Something noted in her bio in-game, though few people are really likely to learn it 'in-character'. She's a Human dancer (also working on some tailoring), a native of Alderaan who now lives on Naboo.

(From a game-mechanics point of view, I've already had opportunity to regret the leading apostraphe, as I've had some rather nice 'bank-tips' end up going to someone named Seph without the apostraphe. Oooops!)

Quick addendum to my post -- just for the record, I pronounce that last name: Ear-ih-dan.

Good morning Star Wars Galaxies!

Once again my poor thread has fallen pages behind. I am off and running to guide you all, beginning with the found souls of...page 32! Here are 10 names to enlighten and console your fevered brows.

Kaaz Nemere

The first name out of the box has an interesting construction. Sometimes with a name, instead of talking about its sounds, we can talk about what it sounds like. For instance the first name gets most people to think "Taz" which has a couple of cultural references. Nemere does indeed sound like "come here." So...Taz, come here. Now why did I say all of this? It's not trashing what is a fine name, but sometimes it's important to see how others, less name-focused,may see your name. Good name overall.

Rockdo Casro

Yep, this method has been around for over a decade at least. I remember learning about it when I was a wee one.

Kemble

Fun one-name person! I like it. It's definitely a "shoutable" name across a cantina.

Volth A'Culaaz

In the final analysis, you will find few who could find fault with your name, even without the backstory. I enjoyed the story, and the name.

Vabailal

I like this name, and feel it works for you, but would say this name is quite Devaronian as well. A good name. If I was to doctor it, I wouldshave and tuck a bit like so: Vabail, Vasailal.

Rynac Olven

Interesting name! This one seems like it uses a naming scheme that works for you. I am curious, however, what the originals were so we can see how you jumbled them. Of course, the name itself is fine, and works for me for your species.

Nosferu Nautaz

Nautaz is ok for a Zabrak, but I tend to shy away from the ol Nosferatu-type names, as they possess considerable recognition for this sub-culture. I can't blame you for trying, however, and many would not recognize it. May I suggest, then, some cosmetic changes to Nosferu that will make it less obvious: Nocepheru, Nofersu, Nosoferi.

Damion' Wootinc

Well, a great name it may be, but I do have a couple comments on it. The apostrophe after the name, while I understand why it is there, is not an ok thing with me. I have never read of Luke' or Mara' getting married. There are more creative ways to do this.Wootinc, eh? Well, that is borderline red name for me, but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt on this one and chalk it up to an interesting coincidence. May I suggest not "W00ting" quite so much in your next name?

Waryyhn

I have seen a couple Wookiees with the "War-" particle in their name. I am a little uneasy just because of the word "War" being in there, but then, I know of Earth names languages that can be transliterated to be English swear words, so I guess that is fine. Construction-wise, I'm fine with it...the multiple "y" think being integral to the Wookiee homeworld's name. Of course this is all very humorous, because we can see the human name lurking inside. A fine joke indeed. I am curious if your Commission has come out with anything new?

Faiko Tahilio

I think in names, sometimes the first glance is the deciding facotr on a person's opinion of the name. In this case, I had a pretty positive experience. Faiko Tahilio is looking like an interesting Polynesian mix of some sort, and I like how it flows off of the tongue. If I was to alter it, I would play with the last name: Faiko Tahilo, Failko Tahalio.

Just ten names for this morning. But never fear, your name shall be reviewed. Keep the faith my friends.

Planet fact for the day (this one I extrapolated a lot of the geology from what I read from source material):

Tatooine was originally settledas company townsby a number of ore mining firms looking to exploit the dry planet's mineral wealth. Because of it's light metal crust, there was little exploitable wealth to be had. Deep core soundings revealed the planet is a "second lifer"... a planet that was in a system that had destroyed its planets and reconstituted them. Due to its orbit around its twin primaries, the planet itself is stable for long periods, followed by a period of intense tidal strain. For this reason, magma movement is not the primary tectonic force on the planet, but tidal stress from the twin primaries of the system. This is evidenced by the similar age of all its all-young mountainous regions. As they weather away, another tectonic cycle will begin anew.

Tatooine is valued not for its riches, but its rustic melting pot culture, one that demonstrates the best of the fusion of the thousands and thousands of cultures in the Outer Rim.

I have to warn you. I didn't make this myself. The random name generator came up with it, so I can't take credit (They were both first names, so I was the one who put them in order.)
