I haven't been rooted in a while but it dtill not breaking on hit? Is it not suppsoed to? I mean, I thought it was asuppsoed to break on hit, as of last time I was rooted it seemed like an I win button since you're stuck for the duration of the battle.

There is at least one profession (Rifleman) where ALL specials requiring a warm-up, including Marksman specials such as /firearmStrike, /overcharge, and /aim, fail 95% of the time. During the warm-up bar you hear a "thunk" sound that indicates it will fail, and no reason is given.
The Rifleman community has tested this inside out to correlate it to movement, posture, line of sight, distance, time since last posture change, and so on. Though some people have found hopeful results from holding still, we have found no consistent cause between when it works and when it doesn't.
Are there any other professions with warm-up timers on their specials? Do you also have it failing most of the time? And if TH is active in this thread, is a 95% failure rate (this is for Master Riflemen) with no failure message intended?
I'm not quite sure what is going on, but we'll take a look at it.
If this is happening to you all the time with this many professions, then you are either being interrupted by being attacked or you are moving. Some special abilities will break and have to be restarted while others will get just a delay.
THe rifleman abilities are really bad, but I have seen problems with all abilities on times.
Ex power boost. There are times when power boost will fail 3 or 4 times before I get it to stick. Now, since the power requires you to be medding to work I am pretty sure I am not being attacked or moving while I use it.
Generally I can get power boost to work in 1-2 tries when hunting on endor, but when I go to a laggy planet like Dantooine (bria) I get the error beep and a failure 5 or 6 times. Last night I jsut got sick of trying and gave up after a while.
Rifleman timer specials though, especially sniper shot almost always fail. I had about a 10 min period where they worked hunting on endor last night and was havign agreat time, then they stopped again.
If you pick up the Fencer Flurry attack, you can get even more defensive bonuses during combat. Flurry attack gives a short defense bonus, and it STACKS with CoB.

Did you know that if you target a cloner that is not working and type /clone your data will store?
I have seen posts on this daily that many are not working, this will work until they get it fixed.

Knowledge base article 15961 already has errors in it. Many of them.

What happened is when you earned Improved CoB, the toolbar automatically upgraded you to the better ability because there is no advantage to using the lesser ability.
This doesn't explain why some abilities are blocked out, sometimes using the lesser ability DOES have an advantage TH. Why not let the combat be a little more varied?
