Here I am! Sorry for the mini-vacation, but this weekend was a big one for events run by myself and my PA this weekend. And I am still busy coordinating our giant "Cardooine Cough" event.

Let's move on with the page 28 names:

Myrdin Emrys

Well, I am very glad that Welsh history is not lost on us all. However, this is a Welsh historical name, HUGELY famous to those who know it. It is similar to Americans having a name like Paul Bunyan or John Henry. Thus, I would have to say great taste in names, but not for a Star Wars one.

Eldamar Telperion

A Tolkien inspired name, eh? You may have noticed my hostility to this, and I am afraid it continues here. The name simply needs some work. Remove the Tolkien, and you have the basis of a good name.

Magora Coregema

I am always intrigued when someone says it is "based on their name." Makes you wonder, yes? At any rate, I see no problems with the name.

Ben-jahmin Runner

Ben-<name> has a historical significance, being a Jewish construction, and that is what I see when I see this name. It is a patronymic particle, meaning in the oldest forms "son of" (much like how my name works "bal-Tannis." Thus, you are skating in the territory of a real life naming system, that is recognized by quite a few people. The "Runner" name, like so many verb names I have noticed, are subtle plays on the two biggies from the canon, "Skywalker" and "Darklighter." You will find most names generated or found on players to be of a "movement" variety or of a "light quantity or character" variety. Runner is not a bad name, and I find it quite fine in the name you selected, but that is likely the reason for your concerns with it.

Fluffy

And should I make a human named "Pinkie" or "Brownie"?

Hextorr Marfuria

I am suspicious of your name. Hextor in Dungeons and Dragon is the god of some negative thing or another, and I suspect you got your name from that. If I can see it, I am sure others will as well. Marfuria, on the other hand, seems ok, I don't see some overly-derivative reference here.

Deetz Bajakk

Deetz is a German name, carried by a lot of people and seen in some popular culture references as well. Thus your name is easily recognized, but in your case, I don't think it's a huge distraction. Indeed, I like the way your names flow together, and give it a pass. Bajakk is an interesting last name, to be sure. A secondary search of my sources finds lots of stuff with "Bajak," many of them interesting to me, and maybe to you...you should look it up.

Shanim Tecam

I would be interested in hearing how you came up with this name. It has a good construction, seeming to be a cultural name. You could come up with a good backstory to this name involving being a member of some galactic culture not like that of the mainstream Zabrak. Just a thought. Your name does not connote your loving skills, so I will take that on faith.

Volkev Sae'kor

A good Zabrak name, and also a great Bothan name! At any rate, I give this one a good pass.

Korembeck

Hmm, very Teutonic to me, especially for a Wookiee name. I think the part that gonks for me is the "-beck" section of the name, so I would advise you to shift it around a bit.

Ul'ster Renderlight

I generally would advise against the name Ulster, as it is quite charged with meaning in our modern culture...on both sides of the Atlantic. Renderlight, on the other hand, is an interesting play on the "light amount or source" theme running through these Anglo-Saxon two name fusions we see around here.

Graff Saiatsu

The 28 page folks are on a Teutonic kick I see. Graff is a great name, and even works for a Mon Calamari. I've mentioned the two name thing being a no-no with the Calamari before, but I also think the last name, which can be considered to be Basque or Japanese in nature (depending on your own cultural bias, I'm sure), may need some work in the first place.

Kira Skyrider/Vega or Jetta Darkrider

Kiraand Jetta seem good with the names, but I would avoid Vega, being too astronomical in our own galaxy. I like how Jetta is dark, and Kira is light, for reasons that are implicit with their names. Skyrider, being awfully close to Skywalker, will get you a lot of raisedeyebrows, I am sure. You could go with Cloudrider, Windrider, or some other such, but I recognize the homage to your father's CB name as well. Darkrider is simply a very good choice, a name selected when you decided to walk the dark side of theForce.I like the thought you put into these names.

NekidFrog

Should I make a human named PinkApe?

Nah'tan Starhawk

Nah'tan is an interesting take on Nathan, which I will guess is your real first name. I like it, as it still maintains a hint of individuality than many transformed real namesdo not possess. Starhawk is a little cheesy,I have to say, but I have a weaknessfor these cheesy Sci-Fi names sometimes (witness that two good in-game friends, Buck Photon and Lonestar, have names I like.)

Kapacca

Hmm, I had to think about this one, but I think, while a little derivative, it will work for a Wookiee. My main concern is that it seems a little short, or abrupt, fora Wookiee name.

Nijal Ha-Xon

The feeling I get from this name is Nigel Haxxor, which is funny and all, but not very Star Wars. Nijal in itself is a great name, and I recommend it as such, but anything with Hax in it is suspect in our current cultural stage of the Internet. Like I have said before, folks who track these things have noticed this is already on the decline, but until then, Hax names are out. Now, I recognize you may never have seen this, so here's some suggestions: One, the apostrophe is key, and two, simply play the vowel shift game to get a similar name: Hi'Xin, Hu'xan, etc.

Tato

Short, sweet, to the point. I like it.

Saran'ket/Teran'ket/Goran'ket Faase

I love names with a theme, and a self-consistant set of rules. Obviously, "'ket" has some cultural significance where they come from. It may be a caste tag, or a gender identifier, or even some form of patro/matro-nymic style. The names are great.

Tsu'nami Zer'g

Well, no, and you know why, but I do celebrate the fact that you took two different items that basically convey the same concept and threw them together, Tsunami Zerg indeed.

Well, I should be back on track now, and will be whipping out those 29 and 30 names soon. Until again...and if you are on Ahazi and have the Cardooine Cough, MAKE SURE you register at this website!

Wookie Name = Barf

Human Name= Lonestar

Now, I know it doesn't fit any of the SWG reality, but still fun. I just hope that you all know where these names come from.

Thanks for a cool appraisal!

Yes my name is German obviously I used Deetz, short for Dieter my RL name which means "warrior of the people". I've allways liked that.

The name Bajakk...well I made that up and I'm quite surprised that it's a very common surname as "Bajak" !

In Indonesian 'Bajak' means 'Plow' or 'Plough'.

Very interesting, thanks Riis!

It took me a while to figure out what I should name my character but eventually I decided to combine the names of the famous Japanese Director Akira Kurosawa and Hideki, from Chobits (an anime).

Beebops

Beebop the wookie Carbineer/Investigator......trying to get thereatleast...and here is my BIO

Beebop isnt just a wookie he's a Bio'ed EWOK with supernatural abilities that went by the name Pope. during the Clone Wars cloning was at its peak a Sith lord began to infuse his expiriments with the force itself, Beebop was just a baby ewok at the time but the emporer thought a Sith Ewok would be a powerful ally and pretty **edit** funny. ( not included in actual bio but the emporer just wanted a teddy bear to hug because he like all imperials are pansies) Yes Beebop became powerful, too powerful not even the emporer himself could stop him. it turns out that not only the force was infused into Pope, no WOOKIE DNA and Chemical X were infused as well. it turns out some papers got mixed up, you know how stupid imps are. well anyways pope slaughterd a crew aboard a star destroyer, to this day its known as the DARK STAR DESROYER MASSACRE only the emporer survived cus he made it to an escape pod in time. well anywho with out a crew this massive thing crashed on corellia near Coronet. in the crash pope lost all memory of his past and wanderd into town. there two gay lovers named Reyland and Golderon took him in and named him Beebop.

No. Try not. Do...or do not. There is no try.
