Thread: Star Wars Names: The Name Doctor is IN!
Good morning folks! Normally when I say I won't do any names for a day, I get another 30 names posted. Amazingly, the thread merely sunk into oblivion and gave me another break. Well, I'm back, with the page 26 names!
I see two more members of my PA here, always a pleasure to have friends about.
Keshian Rade
I like this name for a variety of reasons. It has good flow, possesses a good mix of sounds, and generally alternates from hard to soft well. I prefer Rade to Raid, personally.
Karak'Nor
Hmm, I think in this case, simply being Karaknor would fit better, and would make a fine Wookiee name.
Aurion Ragnor
Aurion being a nice Latinate construction, I think it looks good. "Rag-" is a powerful psychological particle in our language, and always makes for a good sounding name.
Tria Redstorm
I love the idea of "Tria Treats!" I think this is a great name, and the last name gets me thinking of what forms a "red storm" could take.
Epoka Dila
Not knowing the species, I would say this is a good name for a Human or Rodian, apostrophied (Di'ila perhaps) as a Twi'lek name, and modified slightly (Dey'la) as a Bothan name. Epoka, is it name generated? I seem to have seen this before. By the way, your name backwards (Alid Akope) looks like a great Star Wars name as well.
"Trof is the opposite of Tron. Tron=Trace on Trof=Trace off, (actually, it is troff but I took poetic license)."
Learn something new every day. Or life isn't worth it anymore.
Thanks for teaching me something new.

VERY interesting name. I am curious how you came about it. It doesn't fit any patterns we've gotten into here, except maybe you modified your own name using a formula. You definitely have a unique name here...very nice!
Thank you so much! It came from Wampa, and my love of soft H sounds. No modifying my own name. Just kind of looked at alot of Star Warsnames and the rhythm they have to them.I alsowanted a name that sounded sort of swashbuckling. A name of someone who couldjust be in the background, but have some amazing background. Because that to me was the most interesting part of Star Wars, that random guy in the background had some extensive background. Thanks again for taking a look at it.

Your preferred name quality, I call Riis'Law - fewer sounds and syllables makes for names folks like. In your case, you picked a pretty good one. I think in all analysis, your name is a great one for a Zabrak.
How strange it was to feel the satisfaction of this 'pat on the head.' I'd thought I was beyond seeking others approval for my actions, but this brought quite an unexpected smileto my face.
A simple name from a simple man for a simple character. My choice was to fit any type -- evil, imperial, rebel, heroic, snide -- so that my character could develop the name rather than the other way around. And while redundant, the desire not to come across as pedantic was a conscious one. The name means what it will be not what it was.
Thanks Riis for the generous time investment. This is a pleasant distraction. Now if you only put so much time into obtaining the four badges, you just might be our first Jedi. ![]()
Dran Eico
Wanderhome
TKA, Rifleman, Dog trainer, and a wanderer looking for home
Hehee, now my boyfriend is curious about his two characters.
Ul'ster Renderlight - Human male, Master CH and Master Fencer
Graff Saiatsu - Male Mon Cal, Master Artisan and working on Armorsmith and some other elite artisan professions (I think anyway..lol)
I'm also thinking about creating a human female on another server who will be a fighterand a doctor. Her faction is undecided at this time.
Kira Skyrider (last name was my dad's CB radio name when I was a kid back in the day...Ack, think I gave away an idea of my age:smileyvery-happy![]()
- OR -
Vega or Jetta Darkrider (if she becomes an Imp??)
What do you think, doc?
hehe intresting stuff ![]()
oh well i'll throw out my name ![]()
NekidFrog, Mon cal, heavy swordsman, fisherman, miner
I never wear cloths
btw
Obviously I'm way behind the times. This is what I get for not being more forum-centric, apparently. Anyway, I guess your work's not done just yet, Riis. I have one for you to flex your expertise on.
Nijal Ha-Xon (pronounced Nee-jahl Hay-shon)
Male Twi'lek Master Musician/Skilled Pistoleer/Novice Creature Handler
I had a variant of this name in my extremely short-lived SW RPG days, but modified because I thought it might be more fitting to a Twi'lek than my original Human. What's the verdict, Doc?
I have three characters, from my SW RPing days, all brothers, and I made the names up just by sound. Their names are Saran'ket (pronounced like the name Sara), Teran'ket (pronounced tear-ahn-ket), and Goran'ket Faase (pronounced gor-ahn-ket) ( the last name is pronounced fayz). I was always elected to invent names for people, and they just seem to come out of my head sounding like star wars characters, I'm curious what you make of them
I made another char.
Tsu'nami Zer'g
Twi'lek
Entertainer, medic, artisan
This feels odd. We're on page 28, and here I am with page 27 names! And what names they are...
Malichor Wildebloode
Your "Hail Eris" gives you away. Malichor is probably not the best choice for a Star Wars name, but a slight, sneaky modification would work wonders: Milachir for instance. Wildebloode is great, but since we are so Americanized in Star Wars, I would just drop the extraneous "e"s and be simply Wildblood. Milachir Wildblood. Very nice.
Deadroot
A Wookiee nickname...and I think it would fit in with the Kashyyyk milieu, but would think it would be helpful if in your character biography you would put in the "Wookiee" version of the name, such as "Lampprukama" or some such.
Kitiara Lightfoot or Caleah Lightfoot
Both names are keepers, if you do some slight modification to get them off of established names in other genres. Kityara may be an option, Caliah, may be another, go ahead and play with them. They may inspire you to create a new name out of nothing, which is always the best way to go if you truly wish to be celebrated in naming. ![]()
Sluma Arhol
Sluma works, especially as some sort of nickname, but I really was thinking Rodian when I saw it. Arhol mixes kind of unpleasantly with Sluma, and I would suggest a modification like "Arlholsk."
Zarkoss
A good representation of showing how a name could be created! Thanks for your train of thought on this. Zarkoss seems to have hit the Trandoshan ethos nicely.
Whityyk
I think you come in under the bar for this one, but just barely. I like your scheme, and I like how well you tried to play it into Wookiee, maybe a little more work and it would be a truly excellent name AND still be your IM screen name.
Whit Anexus
I really like this name. It is well crafted, and is already beginning to tell a story to me. One modification, the name could read Whit An'exus or Whit Ane'xus to be more in keeping with Twi'lek forms.
Rez Antana
Rez is simple enough it easily passes, and Antana seems to work well, being an "a" name and being quick and easy. For both Rez and Antana I found some...interesting...references, but I'm sure that wasn't your intent.
CyberThug HoloSlicer
I'm sorry, my friend, but this name just isn't Star Wars. While bio-mechanics and some cyborg implanting is done, this just isn't Cyberpunk or Shadowrun. I like Holoslicer, and think that can be saved, but CyberThug is definitely out. Perhaps a name like Holoslicer Jines or some such would work just as well.
Blank Night
Your nihilism is noted.
Fushigishi
Well, you've heard me expound on the lack of Japanese references in the movies, and my feeling that they do not yet belong in the genre.
Fahd Krath
I've noticed an influx of Ahazians since I made my sig...welcome all! Well Fahd, you picked an interesting name with a bit of real-life history, but we'll lay that aside because we can in this case. Your name works well, being short, full of sounds, and easy to remember. A keeper. (Yes, I noticed the large number of Dark Jedi roleplayers using the name "Krath.")
Soyel Hodon
Well both are real names, but I don't think you linked them in that way one to another. I like the flow of the name, the "l" falling off and then coming right back up with "h." A good name, even if you did drop spice in my vendors after the town made it illegal. ![]()
Chop Suey
The only thing saving you from the red name award is a name further down. Please try again, and stretch yourself to live in another place. Just had a thought. Keep Chop, and ditch Suey and make up your own Star Wars word...Chop Yvrel, Chop Srobel, etc.
Toth Ta'al
A good name. Riis' law works here. Good use of repeating sounds. Beware of spitting when you say this name
.
Leebo
A good Rodian name. I don't need to say much more about this.
Refack Anea
Is Refack a name generator name? I swear I've seen it before. In this case, ditch Anea and stick with Refack.
Jatt Ordasi
So many cool names being thought up for FS characters. I think you picked a winner. The name is full of overtones of goodness and adventure.
Vincent-Vega/Jules-Winfield
Nope. Try again, this time with a Star Wars name. You can do it. ![]()
Auriga Starlighter
Well, I wouldn't say the Charioteer is an obscure constellation, but in this case it may pass. I would modify it personally, to something simpler like Ariga. Starlighter fits into the naming convention established by Lucas, so I have no problems with it. ![]()
Ovakito
Weird that "Ova-" names pop up for Wookiees. I've known an Ovanik, and a Ovaskk. Odd. At any rate, since it is such a fine pedigree, I think the name is well made.
And that is is for page 27. If page 28 (and soon 29) stay fairly calm, I'll honor that request for a "best of" list that is sorted by player species.

Tichiir
Looks like some of my students' spelling of my profession "Teacher." If a Wookiee could say it, and I only have doubts about 'ch', then it will work for me.

ch bad? what about 'Ch'ewbacca?
I partly make this to be post 700 in my thread! WOOHOO!
I didn't say it was bad, I said I didn't think a Wookiee could pronounce it! My old opinion was that a Wookiee should pronounce his/her own name (being logical), but my new one is that none of these "Wookiee" names are actually the names Wookiees use amongst themselves...so three layers of names in Wookiee culture.
