My understanding of the color is that when you craft the saber you chose the color at that time.
So if you start with a blue crystal you can have a blue saber but you can chose it to be say yellow purple red whatever.
500k sounds about right but I see them go for as little as 250k on eclipse server the pearls are very big and looked for on that server the crystal econamy have droped of alot. The only time color maters it seems is to collectors like my wife she has 9 of them in every color yellow green purple blue some twin some single.
To collectors purple seems to be the rarest and can be sold for a bit more.

You can't decide the blade color while making your saber, only the hilt style. The color is determined by the crystal or pearl.

Tarannis, since when did they allow you to pick the color? I thought it was still dependant on the color of the crystal/pearl...

Well I was speaking witha Lightsaber duelest and I asked them a few ? about sabers. I asked because all the new jedi I have seen are running around with red sabers not to say that some have other colors but from my xp. I see red ones on jedi int. I asked this cause my wife and I have never found a red crystal other them NS FC and they cant be used to make sabers. I found it funny that all these new jedi had red sabers.
So i asked this guy and said that when you craft the crystal pack you can chose its color thus if you start with a blue crystal and use it to make a refined crystal pack which you have you do befor you can use the crystal to make the saber you can chose what color the crystal pack ends up.
Not being a jedi myself I cant say that this is the truth but what good would it be for a jedi to lie about saber color.
So if you know for a fact because you have done it and you know you cant chose the color then I am sorry for asking a jedi and post what i was told.

I think you can choose color for the TRAINING saber, but after that any saber's color is wholly dependant on the crystal/pearl's color

colour is dependant only on the colour of the crystal/pearl.
all the initiates you see running round showing off have red sabers because the refined crystal packs that we craft to make the training saber are red, and only red (the refined crystal packs can also only be used in the training saber, not to upgrade the saber in future) There's no way to choose the colour of your saber, other than to use a crystal/pearl of that colour

mine was 95-191 1.6 wound and 1.4 speed
