To make good RIS you need to use Geonosian Interwoven RIS schematics which have 5 uses. THey allow you to use more layer and GEO cubes but I used the normal items and I had one made and the stats came out 80%kin 53%Base and low Encum.

This armor and mando are by far the two hardest suits of armor to get in this game. I think it looks cool. Composite used to look cool but now I'm sick of seeing it everywhere.

People complain about it having Acid and Stun Vuln but that isn't always true. YOU CAN HAVE ACID AND STUN LAYERS PUT INTO RIS. I Know the Stun can hit up to 45% I'm not sure as to how the Acid will go.

Also the Giant Dune Kimo Scale Drop rate has been greatly reduced or is broken again. The Devs recently nerfed all the POI spawns so now everything spawns only once per day other than the Sennex Cave, Geo Cave, and Death Watch Bunker. They weren't nice enough to nerf the Bunker for us but took away everything else.

So basically only one Kimo spawns per day at Kimo Town now. I killed over 18 last week and my friends and some guidmates killed many more than that and they, just like I, looted absolutely nothing of value.

I been trying to get these scales forever and since I don't receive any reward for my efforts I have stopped playing for a bit because I'm really pissed off at the devs for the latest POI nerf and loot drop nerf.

That's mine.

Run of the mill components, janta hide, and nothing else.

Not bad for "cheap" RIS.

First, it's very good guide. Thx for the work.

But foremost - does anyone have some established WPs for hunting GKDs like for example "hunting" the random spawns in Hero quest? I've been looking for GDK for the last few days, travelled nearly all the southern Lok but I was unable to find a single one.

I have few questions. If anyone would devote some time and help I would appreciate it.

1. If I find a group of kimos (DKs, GKs, EKs, EDKs) and kill them, is there a chance that GDK will spawn?

2. I've found many kimos near the mountain. Does GDK ever spawn there?

3. Does the GDK at Kimo Town drops the scale(s)? Some say yes, some say no, but no one is able to give me definite answer.

4. Like I said earlier - does anyone have any WPs where to look for GDKs?

Thx everybody for their time.

1-yes, there is a chance it may spawn. However it dosent really matter if you clear out kimo spawns. i would pick less powerful spawns and wipe them all out. After a wild GDK does spawn, you can kill it about 3-4 times before the spawn leaves. This works for any random spawns you are trying to provoke. rangers can help too!

2-yes, the mountain seems to be a hotspot for all kimo spawns, incuding the occasional GDK.

3-yes, it deffinatly does drop the scale. as i said in the guide it used to be bugged but is now fixed since publish8

4-not really, the random spawns are just that: totaly random. it has as good of a chance spawning at a wp it has been spotted at before as it does spawning 5km away from that wp. generally the SE portion of lok seems to spawn the most.

good questions. ill add some of the info to the guide.

darn, i see your on eclipse. but if anyone is ever on the tempest server, i am a ranger and will gladly help you find GDK. i even have my own city in the south of lok. i like to think of it as a kimo hunting outpost.

Thx a lot man! I would have never thought someone took the time and answered them.

Thanks again! Your help is much appreciated!

Old post but yes, RIS is quite good. It's major flaws simply being it's acid vulnerability and the fact that it is so hard and expensive to make that few people are willing to actually use it other than for show. Come the combat revamp, RIS's value should be even greater since, as I have gathered, post Combat revamp it is supposed to be:

Mandalorian > RIS > Composite

The best types of RIS to look for are interwoven with 90% resists and sliced composite level encumbrances, or RIS with high resists with potentially no encumbrance at all. It is possible, though hard(and a bit of luck) to get RIS with 0/0/0 encumbrance.

My own helmet is actually not interwoven but is 80% kinetic, 60% base, 40/40/134 encumbrance. Thats not too shabby at all

I am a 10pt AS and the RIS I have made is the same as the one above - ie 65% base. It's not too difficult to get it at that level once you've made a couple of pieces (the first few I made had base stats in the mid-50's).

The key is getting really good kinetic layers I think.

Still, need 4 more GDK's to finish my own suit and then it's time to strut. No way I'll be wearing it in combat though !!

This is probably a dumb question... but how many of each of those four items do you need for a complete set? Do you need one each for every piece of armor? Sorry, I know nothing about crafting.

For a full suit, you need 9 GDK scales, 9 Gurk hides, and 9 Woolamander bones. Peko feathers are used to complete the RIS quest and optional for assembly (you'd be better off using an NS shard or Janta hide).
