hey, that's great news. too bad about the noob quests, though. just waiting for them to be fixed to drop these boxes and do those quests...

Has anyone managed to get all 4 newb tutorial badges yet?
I hadthe idea that it might be just older players that drop skills for novice boxes
that have this problem. Are there any brand new players that have managed to
get all 4?

Question - Are these the NooB missions I need to finish (Brawler, Marksman, Artisan, Entertainer) B4 I speak with the Mayor for the NooB Badges?

Do I need to do all the NooB missions from the npc by the starport. the one that gives out the missions that are I believe the new player ones. You know, learning how to use the bank, baazar, etc>?

For the badges, I think you talk to the mayor first. He has a list of the basic
profs. When you click one, he gives you a waypoint to where that particular
person is. You then do that persons quests. Then return to the mayor and
receive a badge. The last 2 badges appear to be broken still though.
I'm not sure if learning about the bank/bazaar etc is required but I did those
anyway hehe.

Well I did the whole lot of them last night (5 profs and the noob bank/clone center, etc.) nothing, bugged and CSRed it. CSR wrote back to look on forums…
Guess this is still messed as I only got two, looks like the brawler one still holding up the show.

It doesn't look like there's supposed to be a scout badge. None of the badge texts match what you did there.
The brawler quest definitely bugged as the badge text matches what you accomplished. Mayor Badge McHorder says he gave you a badge, but of course he didn't. No wonder Jabba likes messing with him. It's karma! We'll see what the CSR tells me about that one.
Some of those brawler missions were tricky, with the misleading 'Mission Success' once you arrived. You still have to go do what you were asked to. You get a second 'Mission Success' at the end of that and usually a waypoint pointing back to the Mayor. Talking to the mission target after you're done can make that happen too.
Artisan quest - baffled on this one. After the survey tool step, I thought he implied you should make one of each crafting tool. This requires Engineering 1 so I forked over some more skillpoints. Crafting the generic crafting tool requires a generic crafting tool (how silly). Luckily I found one on the bazaar. Didn't help though. I also tried surveying and sampling with each tool, and I crafted a few things too. Still nothing. Even though it sounds like you've gotten the information you need for the mayor (and the mayor confirms that), it was just seemed too short to be the end.
I tried:
Crafting all the tools.
Crafting all the tools including experimenting on them.
Crafting a few things. Anyone have the patience to craft one thing out of each crafting tool?
Survey/sample (except which wind requires a harvester).
What else have we tried?
Anyone have the Engineering 2 skills to craft armor repair TOOLS and weapon repair TOOLS? I can't give up anymore skillpoints.

CSR-AnnaK (who knew Anna Kournikova took up a new job?) confirmed that both badges are bugged. Development is aware of them. She didn't mention any particular publish in which they'd be fixed.
Someone let me know post-publish 20 if it happens to get fixed then.

I also can only get two of these badges and that I also chatted briefly with a CSR who told me these were bugged.
Since it does not seem to have been mentioned here, let me add that these quests actually start with an NPC near the star port named "Trehla Keelo". You do a comprehensive set of profession quests that also yield a free speeder and a MSE droid. When you have completed her quests she then sends you on to see the mayor who then sends you to the 5 specific profession quest lines. I did her set after the mayors quests. And I doubt doing her set first will make any difference, but towards the end of her quests, there is mention of the Tusken raids and on of last quests results in you being ambushed by 2 Tusken Zealots in Mos Espa. Soon after, she points you to the mayor. This does make sense though, since the mayor pretty much hands you a badge upon talking to him. I guess he assumes you worked for Trehla Keelo and is rewarding you for that.
I doubt this info will help, but here it is all the same.

any word whether these are working with publish 21? i saw a note on one of the TC passes that they were to be fixed, but i'm not sure it was actually pushed out to live. anyone?

they are working. If you've completed all the quests from the Mayor, go an talk to him again and you'll get the remaining 2 badges. Just did it last night.

I can also confirm this. Received my remaining 2 badges earlier. I can finally get my skills back
