I can just see a "Wait for the Combat Revamp" and "Wait for the Smuggler Revamp" quote all rolled into one.

What Wabit is referring to is the Smuggler ability to slice mission terms and make them give you an extra % increase in payout. Unfortunately my mind has gone completely blank and I dont remember the %... may be 25%... may even be 50%.

But in order to do that you have to get through the first slicing box of Smuggler. Novice smuggler requires both pistol skills and brawler skills, so is very expensive in terms of Skill Points. And also, to get that first slicing box, all you can slice is locked containers, of which you will need to slice 20.

So IF you should by chance pick up that slicing 1 skill, then here is what you can expect:
-- Mokk and Janta missions on Dant, Solo Group, Improved Job Market: 45K per mission
-- Enraged Rancor missions on Dath, Solo Group, (No improved job markets there), 55K per mission.

Now, before you go running off to get Novice Smuggler + Slicing 1, keep in mind that after you slice a terminal, ONLY THE FIRST SCREEN OF MISSIONS IS "ENHANCED". After you refresh the screen once, you lose the slicing bonus. And you have to wait 2 minutes before you can slice it again. I have gotten very lucky only a few times and seen two max payout missions on the first (enhanced payout) screen, but this is VERY rare. I would say I see even ONE enhanced mission on the first screen maybe 33% of the time....not completely sure though.

thats the only reason i brought it up...

for every sucessful slice of a term there is an increase in the payout of a mission... but since most are only looking for the highest payouts its not noticed... but like all slicing its completly random, you might get a bunch of junk missions that aren't worth completeing, or you might gettwo 50kish missions

...

but the real benifit of slicing terms is at a faction terminal... you get a payout boost and a boost in FP for destroying the lair thingy...

if i was the original poster unless you plan on mastering commando, i'd drop the HAR line completly (the drx-d6 is much better for acid damage) and put those 5 SP into slicing 4 and FT 3... it'll be a nice increase to your grenade slices... or put all 5 SP into getting FT4... its a big difference in the accuracy... FT2 just isn't worth really haveing, you miss way too much, and are slow...

that looks like a FS exp template... if so as you need to spend SP on gaining jedi, drop the FT line first, and then the slicing line, but keep novice smuggler... and pick up dirty fighting 1...

just my advice...

oh yea enraged rancors pay more than the 31k caveman missions...
