Thread: Friday Feature: Part 2 August 19th Astromech Stats: Profession Popularity

If they eliminated the stats from Jedi second-character slots, these numbers would look scarily different.

It's always nice to know that even though Jedi is all that you see, especially in the Galactic Civil War, these companies can always boast that there are at least half non-Jedi players. Oh, except when I said "nice", I mean the opposite of "nice"... like "not nice" or something similar.

After learning of the New(TM) Jedi-centric expansion, these kind of astromech stats are another huge kick in my groin. It is as if it is a message from the producers and devs that they just don't give a crap about the non-Jedi players at all, smuggling, or the GCW.

My account will be cancelled. Thanks for leading me on, you can be sure that I will never buy another Lucas Arts product and will make a habit of telling those I know not to buy your products.

After being told that I could smuggle Soon(TM), I'll be laughing when this game tanks Soon(TM) as well. Poetic Justice, FTW.

Basically it goes like this:

LEAST PLAYED

broken/weak combatprofessions

entertainers

crafters

jedi

good combat professions

force sensitive professions

MOST PLAYED

What is even more suprising is that there are more poloticians than smugglers. How will they get thier spice? Who will bring in thier cheap labor!?!?!? Outrage! I want a raise!

Politican is so high because it is a 'free class' and takes no skill points. Lots of Jedi I see running around have "novice politician" over their heads.

Whowever made the survey... I don't think pilot should count because its "free", and everyone who bought JtL has it.

1. Force Sensitive - Combat
2. Bounty Hunter
3. Force Sensitive - Reflexes

This right here confirms my fears. Are there percentages to go along with these figures? I could of told everyone this..

Well it si intersting that more people choose to be Freelnace then rebel or imperial. I would assume that there are many players, both rebel and imperial, who wanted a YT.

But just because the profession is free does not mean the stats are meaningless. You still have to choose which faction or, as with one of my characters, choose no faction. You dont even need basic pilot to fly the yacht.

Taking out FS and Politician and lumping Jedi together and moving them up4 rungs (one for each subclass removed) on the ladder gives you this (probably way off but who cares - better than their list):

What I got was a list of what skills people have from most to least, If
you read the text at the top it says a "list of the skills" this is
current and listed in the order, so it means that bounty hunter is the
most popular skill. This list does not mean that Most people have
mastered it I do not have that information but we are trying to get
them to pull more data for future use.

I would imagine deleting the free alt accounts that Jedi get would be a good start.

I think it's important that people learn how few Master Force Healer and Master Force Wielders they have, so we can quit being blamed for Defenders all the time.

Reason: The lack of multiplayer pve content and Star Wars feel.
For 3 years I have tried to find excuses to stay in game but only the expansions offered me what I subscribed for in the first place: A multiplayer Star Wars pve experience with friends around the globe. I found friends but with almost no addition of pve content they dropped out one by one. Now it's my turn.

Yeah, i'd like to see how many jedi there are in relation to other professions. Why did you break it down in the sub-professions, are you trying to hide something?

Probably did a simple sort by profession. Since Jedi, in and of itself is not the profession, more like a classs like melee or ranged, the professions are the skilltrees. Also it s probably based on number of playes that have at least one box of a given profession. Look how high merchant is? I doubt there are that many master Merchants running arounf but planety of crafters with some merchant.

As for hiding something , there is nothing to hide. Jedi is no doubt the most popular. I think it is interesting to see what skills rank.

Oooh! Oooh! I know a good idea for an Astromech Stat!

You coud do a statistical analysis of how long it's been since all those players you counted logged on to play. Then only count the ones that have played in the last month (or less) when you make your list.

Or.... Tell us when this report was generated.

Or.... Tell us if you included alts of Jedi and why.

Or.... Give us any stat that is meaningful...

Melvis (Scylla): Master Pistoleer, Master Bounty Hunter
Ishu (Scylla): TKM, Master Doctor
Givi (Scylla): Master Smuggler, Master Squad Leader
Ockewei (Scylla): Master WS, Master Artisan, Merchant in Training

Woohoo! Squad Leader at the top of the list... oh, wait, that's LEAST played. For some reason this shouldn't surprise me, but it is depressing to see it so plainly laid out.

I wouldnt mind a list for each skillbox. Even if it would be long

It would show clearly what needs to be improved.

ah so it's pointless then it should eb skill boxes

most jedi will have healing and defender so does that mean lightsaber will be the highest jedi skill - as jedi need this for xp?

bit silly if you ask me
