I am having the same problem, bugged it, but no reply back. I tried talking the the chief again today and nothing has changed. This was one of the first quests i did when rotw came out. Been going on for months.

Same problem here with the looping chief text since ROTW launch.
It is obsurd the devs haven't fixed this yet, as it cuts us off from a whole damn quest line and cool loot.

For the guy two posts above who has killed the Arena champ > There is very little point talking to Chief now anyway, youget very little from him now,only get a wind chime from him I think, better to forget him and talk to the Outcast Informant by the Entrance to the village, then head over to the Outcast cave and do all their missions. You will then get a LD1 rifle.
You cant get the arena Champ badge cos you killed him, but Im sure you knew that before you killed him.

still bugged, and positive keritamba faction does not fix this bug.

Its a quest log bug. I was looking at mine today and "Search for the cure II" appears in the completed list AND the ongoing quest although there is no orange pull down box that shows you what you are suppose to do. Hopefully they implement a "quest reset/record keeper" for Kyysh soon.
