Well I'll post what I got so far in badges, so you can draw your own conclusions...And I am glowing
75 badges badge
13 mastered professions, (1 holo)
All POI badges, did them a week after they came out, including the master explorer badge, so that means I have all POI's as well
All dead eye rebel badges, and 1 dead eye imperial badge
Both Warren Badges
Rebel theme park twice (of cource only one badge)
Iperial theme park
Nym theme park
Jaba theme park twice
2 swoop track badges
Intellect badge
theed librarian badge
I think that's it, I may have missed a few but I think that's what I got and I am glowing.
Another aspect you might want to consider is how many different types of experience you have, I was informed that if you have a lot of experience types like entertainer, dancer, pistols, unarmed, craftingetc. that those different experience types give you a better chance of getting the old man to visit you.
So my conclusion is that if you have a lot of badges even the content ones, and POI's and only 10 different experiance types and still no glowing status,try some new stuff get new xp types and see if that helps you get your glowing status. So far I've got 23 different xp types out of a possible 40 I believe. Just a thought.

I've done the Rebel, Imperial, and Jabba theme park. No badges on the Warren, no corvette, and no Nyms.
I'm guessing Nym and one warren badge will open it for me

Same here. In terms of Event badges, I have:
Rebel Themepark
Imperial Themepark
Jabba's Palace Themepark
Librarian Trivia (if that counts?)
So hopefully tonight when I complete Nym's, I *might* make it.
But who can tell...? /shrug

Hey guys.
I have only been playing for 3 weeks so not really been to many locations, last night I decided to check this theory and /checked before I started to find i had no connection with the force (as u would expect). I then visited....
Rebel Themepark
Jedi Temple on Dant
Exar Kuns
Krayt Skeleton
Salacc
Theed Falls
Rebel Base on Rori
and C3PO escape Pod
I have also mastered medic.
I then /checked again and I am now surging!
Soooooo....if I do Nym's themepark and the warrens I might just make it to glowing.
However, I know where the imperial warren on Dant is but I am a covert reb, will this just KOS me? and where is the second warren?
This is a great guide to becoming glowy, nice one.

I'm not really all that interested in a visit by the old man, but when I checked my status I was glowing with the force.

When I got my first holocron it told me to master musican, which I never did. So without hologrinding I seem to be eligible for a visit by the old man. I still don't understand how this system is any better than the hologrinding system was. Looks like a different kind of grind is all.

Just a few notes:
Both Warren badges are at the Warren. For the first one, you need a letter for a Widow named Mirla. You can find the letter somewhere in the beginning of the Warren, and Mirla is further down. You need 4 pieces of evidence for the other badge. Evidence can be downloaded from computerterminals. This evicence must be turned in to Captain Heff at the Theed Capitol.
There is a more extensive guide on the internet. A googlesearch should turn it up.
For Nym's quest you don't have to be on good terms with Nym in terms of faction. All Nym's guards at the Palace are white/non-attackable.

Although i never wanted to write again onto these boards, i do it this time, because maybe somebody is interested in my stats:

i am a master entertainer, master musician, have 41 of the POI badges, 2 profession badges, project deadeye badge and thats it, but i rank as surging... i did a factional themepark and got the badge but forgot to /check after i did it.
the only thing i have a question on if the original post is correct on badge requirements, is... are the ranks correct or is surging in the wrong place on the list?

How can i see if i'm glowing? ive got all the required badges, bt ive heard nothing about being glowy.. do i have to crack open a holocron or something?

Awesome guide. As your info stated I met the badge criteria and when I logged in yesterday I was glowing.

I have a silly question, so I apologize in advance for asking:
Can more then one character be 'senstive' to the force at a time?Under the old system, that was the case...right?
Why do I ask this? I have two characters on my account...yes, only two...but the character I like and want to take through the trials is new and has 'no connection' to the force (yet?). Does that mean I have to delete the first character? Is the second character permanently out of touch with the force?
I apologize if this is common knowledge, but hey, I'm just a wookie...grrrrowwllll.......
