Thread: XP nerf? Don't worry, be happy

i think you're all just being silly or need to actually figure out the game dynamics, for example heres some junk about what i've been doing since the CU:
Respec'd TKM / doc , with self buffs I can get my health to 3800, and have a melee and ranged def of 700 +
I've done missions for maybe a total of4 hours? Two hours grouped and three solo, and gotten 1.8 million unarmed exp and 180k combat exp. Grouped exp netted me nearly a million in just 60 minutes. Last night, me and a rifleman/CM friend were able to kill six level 77 krayt juviniles, 2 level 81 grands, and 2 level 83 ancients in about 15 minutes with nearly zero downtime. Personally I think this was broken, and I was hoping that ANY of those krayts would have kicked my ass, but no dice... they aren't really worth fighting, might as well grind on them for the 6.3k exp a pop.
So first of all, to the godly character wannabes... 3800 health and 700+ defs ain't bad... especially since I don't wear armor or use a weapon anymore... just run around in my lime green dress and punch things Do you really expect a little girl in a ballroom dress to be able to punch rancors to death? Well they can... they just can't punch armies of 900000 rancors to death at the same time. Oh nos! Well thats too bad I guess.
Second... exp isn't as fast, but 1 million an hour is equal to grinding in the warrens pre-CU, and that was ridiculous... probably one of the things SoE wanted to get rid of. Not to mention this week's exp doubling... two mill per hour? Sounds silly to me.... ESPECIALLY with the new level bumping feature, where everyone in your group is automatically increased to match the highest level player. Admittedly, they won't be as accurate, but even level one chars can be of some help when taking down large things. All you need to dois play your roles... tanks, damage dealers, healing, crowd control.
ALSO for the discouraged, grouping doesn't split the exp from each mob, everyone in the group will get the full 5k whatever as long as they landed one blow during the fight, so the more people you have, the faster you can grind. Just pick up missions, don't look for random spawns. They all generate near your level.
I guess all I have left to say is, its too bad people can't master fencer ina day anymore, or get TKM in six hours with a supercool exploit spawn. Can't even get jedi knight in two weeks from initiate! OH NO!!!! Sorry, but I think that was actually something SoE decided should be a no-no. Who'da thought huh?

Wellsaid but i'm a bit worried about your 700 + defence for ranged and melee, i had TKM, master fencer and master brawler and mine were only 256 defence for melee and the same for ranged.

Getting XP is NOT!!!! difficult. And especially with double xp week going on, the people who know how to do it are very happy. For about the first day I was frustrated too by the 1 xp business but then I figured it out. And yes, it's easier when you're grouped.
The key is to go to any higher level planet (dant and endor seem to be very good choices). Go to a terminal and select missions that are within 2 levels, either up or down,of your current level. At the spawns, all the creatures should be at that same level of difficulty. With double xp, I've been netting 10k per kill.
Grouping, although undesireable for some, is good for a couple of reasons. First, if the person you're grouping with is higher level, now you can take missions at that persons level instead of your own. Better xp. Second, as long as you participate, each kill nets you full xp, whether you did 1 pt of damage or all but 1 pt of damage. Third, as long as you are nearby when the spawn is destroyed, you get full money.
I've read and heard a lot of negativity lately. Although some things are bugged or broken, overall I've been very happy with the CU. I lost some skills in the respec process, which was a little irritating. But I've used the time regaining those skills to learn how the CU works and I like it. Give it a good try folks. I think there's way more good than bad here.
