Thread: Droidekas should be stronger than Super battledroids and battledroids.

Nothing in the game should have more than 50% melee resists except things like Krayt Dragons and AT-STs. You should be able to solo a NS Elder with a kinetic weapon. It makes no sense that I can hit an NPC like a NS Elder and have my Long Vibro Axe bounce off.

What were the devs thinking with Super/Battledroids? Seriousally, they had Droidekas in-game the entire time, which were tough as hell in the early days but nothing now, and yet they go on with this SBD/BD spawning spree,250k HAM ar3 with insane resists while Droidekas roll around as little balls of Nym loot to be slaughtered and farmed.


The normal battle droids were massacred in massive amounts in the movies and Clone Wars series, they were the disposable droid, it makes no sense that they're so badass in this game. Looking at them makes you wonder if Lucasarts knows what these droids are like SWG. I mean, they shouldnt be 1-hit kill pushovers, there has to be balance with the game but they deffinately arent balanced in their current state.

I'm so sick of super battle droids that I'd take purple Teletubbie robots as a substitution. My guild's been in the death watch bunker often enough that it actually provokes a physical reaction on par with seasickness when I see the damn things.Super battle droids arebig, walking banners that say:


"You will now waste four minutes killing me, foolish meatbag. Your leisure time is MINE! AND YOU SHALL HAVE NO LOOT!"


The whole time we're fighting them, I'm running a macro and watching TV.


If thedevsreduced the completely ridiculous resists on these things (even just slightly) and swapped them with droidekas, it'd probably breathe new life into some areas of the game. If they have to remain "tough" (read: boring) as a roadblock to progress in the DWB and Corvette, then at least let them drop droid enhancements that DEs can use, or SOMETHING.

Hmm.

My hope is that in the CU the stats will be this.

BD-8000 HAM Light armor

SBD-16000 HAM Medium armor

Droideka- 24000 HAM Medium armor

Hopefully those levels will still prove challenging. Yes in the CU I hope I can never solo anything with 20k of HAM or more. You have to remember that farming will be a thing of the past and taking on a squad of more than 6 Stormtroopers will be a challenge in the fact that you will likely die.

Everything is being changed not just players. Don't expect to solo rancors. And people will truley fear NS so much that they will only assault them in groups of 20 and plus.

Unless u r a Jedi, they have said that they will not be touching Jedi in the CU, at least from what I have read. And how they are talking about changing the NPC cities and asking our ideas makes it seem like the CU is a long ways away.

Meh, I agree with what has been posted here.

I just love the modeling job they did on the Droideka (sp?) NPC. Even when it dies it looks cool.

Agreed - this is another of the seemingly simple changes that would add to the "Star Wars"-y feel.

Plus if you look at Ep.II, the Super Battle Droids are shorter than Mace Windu. In SWG they are a bit too big.




Some of my pet peeve bugs:
•Armorsmith protection layers were not converted with the CU.
•Ship Details window does not close when you click "Travel" resulting in the message "You have lost the target. Closing interface."

in the movies 2 Droidekas were a even match for 2 Jedi, in the game me and my friend (both non-Jedi) role up on 2 Droidekas = 2 dead Droidekas every time.

Come to think of it, this would be a five-minute fix... all the developers really have to do is swap the images displayed for the creature, and that can be done in a .tre file patch.


Assign the Droideka image to the SBD, assign the SBD image to the Battle Droid, assign the Battledroid image to the Droideka.


Of course, then you have to make sure to remove all *melee* weapons from all *three* droid designs, and that can't be done in a .tre file patch, but it's a start.

Hehe im loving all the ideas. I currently agree that Super/BattleDroids are wayy to uber in the game but can easily be pwned in the movies. But i dont know about you guys but i myself (non-jedi) can solo 1 sbd and/or bd. And i enjoy going to the DwB and try soloing an SBD. But i dont see a reason why they shouldnt be changed though so i pretty much agree with everyones idea.
