Killing any spawns in the graveyard will help krayts pop, but its not a guarantee. First what you should do when you start hunting, is make a couple circles around a 1500m radius from the Krayt Graveyard POI waypoint. If you dont see any after that, then you start clearing out lairs and random spawns (I've spawned Krayt Ancients more than once from killing Dune Stalker spawns before, you need to kill them 4x though to create a new spawn so its more work than lairs).
I just want to dispel a couple rumors about Rangers when it comes to krayt hunting aswell. For the most part, Rangers are of no help at all finding these, simply because of the way the spawning system in SWG works. Ok say you're standing at a waypoint. You could have a ranger there, doing creature track to find dragons, and yes it scans within a 500m radius. But spawns in this game arent "there" until someone actually drives by and causes the NPC/Lair to spawn. That's why sometimes when you drive around you'll notice stuff starts to pop when its actually behind you, because of delayed spawning. So, if the ranger is searching in the area, there could be a krayt spawn 150m away, but because you have neglected to drive around, it wouldnt have actually "spawned" yet, and it wont show up on track. The only thing having a Ranger helps is if you plan on kill stealing, because if they find a krayt on track its almost certainly engaged by another group.
Your best bet is always to drive around, yes it can take hours (Personally I've driven around for 8hrs straight before without seeing a single dragon) but the payoff when you see a dragon is more than worth it.
