Nobody groups any more so without tumblers etc. Doctors would take months to master the damn skill.

If they fix the Super-Buff-Solo-Everything problem then maybe Docs can get XP the 'normal' way, but until then keep the tumblers and warcry and stuff just the way it is please.

I think that I posted something really similar to this after my first couple weeks of playing. The truth is that if you've played other MMORPG, then there will be a lot of things people do in this game that don'tjust don'tseem right by RPG standards.

Medic: hey do you know any tricks?

Marksman:yeah watch this

*Marksman tumbles..

Medic: wow that's neat.. can you do it again.

Marksman: yeah but it makes me a bit tired.

*Marksman tumbles..

Medic: oh hey, let me heal you

*Medic heals Marksman for 350 damage..

Marksman: geee thanks!now I can do it again.

*Marksman tumbles..

*Marksman tumbles..

Medic: hey, that is the neatest trick I've ever seen.

*Medic heals Marksman for 341 damage..

Medic: do it again, do it again!

Marksman: sure.

Personally I have never used any real ingame tricks to speed up exp. What I find funny is that people even think this game is hard to level in. Try eq if you a real want a grind. To max out a new player in that game take a solo player years to get even close. Even power gamer with major help of dozens of players be several months if not years.

Now that said no aint doing jedi grind after eq I am burned out.

I can see it from all sides:

It takes a long time to master medic or doctor without tumblers. Hence its a great help to master these professions

But!

Since Publish 10 and the crave of everyone to get xp for FS, its getting harder and harder to get your wounds fixed! I've personally waited over an hour in a med center in Mos Eisley to get auto healed. And this was during Peak playtime! How many times have you seen a person running around yelling can some one please heal my wounds ?

One thing is to master Doctor, another thing is actually useing this skill for anything else than buffing! Which no Doc's seem to do, they are all too busy healing tumblers, giving out buffs and getting xp for FS.

It's sad really if you think about it, before Pub 10 this was never a problem, today it is.

Now this doesnt apply to me as a MTKA, luckily we can selfheal, and THANK GOD! for that! No more waiting for some kind soul to heal my wounds. At the point before I got Meditative 4, i've even had to bribe ppl to turn away from a tumbler to heal me

The solution is this imo:

Up the autoheal in the med centers with 100%, so you no longer have to relly on others to get healing. Imagine a noob comeing in to swg, he goes out and does some missions take some damage gets some wounds, how much fun will he find swg to be if he has to wait ½ hour in a med center before beign able to do more missions ? All the time he can see doc's and meds healing tumblers ?

I dun like tumblers...

I once sat in a hospital with 200+ wounds in all bars, some more after being hit by heavy bleeds from NPC's.

There were 10 medics, combat medics and doctors in that hospital.

I sat there long enough for the hospital autoheal thingy had healed me up. Why? Because none of the medics bothered healing woundeds, they were just busy on the 2 tumblers.

The doc's claim they arent needed, that we can heal ourselves...Well, I went out, ditched scout and got novice medic after that..Now I heal myself and those other poor suckers whos ignored by the real medics.

It's the medics own fault that they are not needed any more. If I knew I could find a healing medic to group with or work with when going hunting, or needing wound healing...I would have ditched novice medic imidiately....But all they do is heal tumblers till they are master docs or combat medics.

I didnt read alot of these post so if this has already been metioned please forgive me.

1.How many TKA's are in the game now that can heal their own wounds?

2.How many group hunts do you see where a person trying to master doctor or any medic profession for that matter can go and heal?

So idont see anyproblem with someone trying to get medic xp from tumblers or warcry.

Its rather sad that with so many replies none of you have quite seen the problem for what it is.

You denounce players for using it, you hate that people don't use other methods, but you still fail to see that its the devs creating mindless systems in the first place that make players want to take shortcuts.

=====================================================================

It is not the devs that cause people to use exploits. If the devs created a fun and exciting way to make master doc in 1 hour. Once someone figured out an exploit to do in 55 minutes, then the exploiters would be doing it in 55 minutes, even if it was less fun and excitiing.

The issue is the people who will cheat and try to blame the devs.

Have you tried mastering doctor without tumbling?

Try it sometime. Tell me what you think. In 8 months time, once you've finally reached master, let me know how much fun you had.

No, but I have mastered Bounty Hunter without buffing, wearing armor, ridinga mount or vehicle, or being reliably certain my mark would actually spawn. And thousands actually have mastered Doctor without a tumbler.

Except that the Devs have already said tumbling is not an exploit, thus the basis of your argument is non-existant.

And YES, it is the devs who make every system of xp into a mindlessly repetitive grind fest.

For example, they can take a note from other MMOs that reward xp gained through quests rather than just killing mobs. Like DAoC, AOand WoW, both of those MMOs use quest-based xp that is BETTER than regular xp so players are naturally encouraged to do so. And believe it or not, quest based xp is actually kinda fun.

Side note: When talking about DAoC I meant the tasks for the first 20 levels or so.

It's a pet hate of mine really, it doesnt ruin the asthetics of the game like some of the other problems people moan about, this is purely game play. It's an exploit, people huddle around in a med cenetre and master medic in a few hours, and then with the addition of the new jedi trials you now find the village always has someone using one of the mentioned exploits and doctors crowding round them. after all they can hold so little xp compared with other classes, its hardly worth them leaving dathomire as by the time they are back on corronet they have maxed out their XP and are ready to go back and cash it in.

People will always find exploits and shortcuts, im terrible for it, but if these affect game balance its the devs job to find a way to stop it happening.

I don't know why people do it. Either ones. The tumblers have nothing better to do? I saw someone asking for tumblers though 60k for 30 mins. When I needed healing xp I went to the Cantina. Lots of people there using action left and right. Plus they really enjoy the heals I know I did. Also the chat in the cantina is welcome instead of some of the mindles tumble monkeys. Do most of the people using the tumblers actually tip them as they request or just stiff them like a lot of people do some of the AFK buffers?

I have been grinding out doc for the past few days, and I have NEVER turned away a request to heal wounds. even though i now no longer need it for xp (even though I am going on the fs route to jedi) I am more than happy to help out someone that has wounds and no, it is not for the xp). I know how it was when i needed it. so please, do not generalize all docs because they are not all like how you describe.
