This is looking more and more like a "scheme" to force us into being patient while they drain us of our $15 each month . Since I really don't think the 33-week wait is worth it, I'm going to be forced into getting skill trees I don't want/have no use for.

I am so sick of hearing this. why don't you go look into how much it costs to maintain multiple servers accross multiple locations, and staff to support the players of an MMORPG. And when I say staff, I don't mean the devs, but the CSR's, account managers, the IT guys who push the reset button on a server when it goes down, etc. Once you can tell me how much all that costs, then you can complain about all the money that SOE is making of your measily 15 bucks a month.

The bulk of the proffits come from the sale of the game itself, just like every other game. Sure they don't want you to quit playing, but not cuz they need your 15 bucks a month, it's cuz dead servers make for boring gameplay and if nobody's playing the game, they don't sell any more copies.

If they truely make as much money as you think they do off your 15 bucks a month, wouldn't it be a better business plan to sell the game off the shelf for 20 bucks, and make it free to download? then they get tons more people trying the game out and paying their 15 bucks a month which you seem to think they are spending on new jagwars or something.

The bloody wait you are so concerned about is to gate the number of people who will play jedi. It's to maximize the number of people who are playing the game and minimize the number of people who are playing to be jedi. Nobody's forcing you to take skills you don't want cuz you can still play the game and have fun without being a jedi. These quests are OPTIONAL, if you don't like the way it's set up, tough cuz I do and just cuz someone can whine louder than me doesn't mean they should get what they want.

You're absolutely right - we're only paying them $15 a month, so let's all just smile and thank them while they spoon feed us crap. This game may not represent a substantial portion of Sony's revenue, but it's sure as hell turning some kind of a profit or it wouldn't be on the market.

I'm tired of hearing that. It's a fact that the customer support in this game is lacking, that developer communication is nonexistent, that many of the choices made in whatever new direction the game might take in a given patch seem to completely ignore player input. While that might sometimes be necessary, it's so often the case that one can't help but get the impression that the people in charge of this game hold nothing but contempt for the players and their opinion.

I'm tired of huge threads where players are completely ignored by SoE representatives - I'm tired of the political half-answers, posts containing -valid- issues that the developers apparently don't want discussed just mysteriously disappearing (covert scanners anyone?), I'm tired of getting the impression that I'm being treated like a non-entity as a paying subscriber in this game.

How many people out there share this feeling? How many people expect most new features in the game to be in some way bugged? Or to be implemented in a way as to seem almost intentionally frustrating? More to the point, how many people expect that, when this new legion of bugs interrupts whatever level of enjoyment that you have to work to achieve in this game (and I stress the word work), customer service is going to treat them with the same apathy that the developers do on these forums?

I don't want a jedi. I did want a second slot, but I'm not willing to wait a minimum of 18 weeks for it - especially when those 18 weeks would come at the cost of being forced to take skills other than those which I would optimally prefer. I'm not expecting them to change this, and I am not "whining louder" than you are, so don't bother to accuse me of doing so - what I am doing is stating my opinion of this mess, which last I checked as a paying subscriber is something I am entitled to do. I simply lack the energy to continue to endure the frustration that SoE apparently expects us to put up with, and as a result the four accounts I currently have active are on their last month. I'm not bitter about it, I've just come to the conclusion that putting up with the way this game is run is no longer worth the effort.

I commented on that above, the profit is from the copies of the game sold off the shelves, after that the fifteen bucks a month go towards sever mainainance and staffing costs. Server maintainance being the bulk of it. The fact that the customer service is poor and that the game is half broke is beside the point. If you go to McDonalds and they take ten minutes to serve you a cold cheeseburger, most normal people stop going there, they don't go back complaining about how people are forcing them to pay 3 bucks for a crummy cheeseburger. If you don't like the service and content, my advice is to leave, but I see you have already taken care of that. I am simply tired of hearing people say that all SOE is trying to do is sap them for another 15 bucks. They already have your money, what they are trying to do now is get new people to come in and play which sells more copies off the shelves.

True, I myself am unhappy with the recent developments in the game, and they have made some questionable decisions.

I have no comment on this aside from, everyone has a right to voice their opinion, but no one is entitled to a response. You pay your membership fees to play the game, not to tell the devs how they should change the game to suit your needs.

The cliche: "You can please some of the people some of the time, but not all of the people all of the time" comes to mind here.

Wow, you have four accounts and all you want out of this whole thing is another character slot? I only have one account and I find the game quite enjoyable. The new system appeals to me in several ways.

1. I don't need to be uber and download the latest macros so I can leave the game running while I go to work to master the next profession. I can actually play the game, have fun, and explore the jedi quests at my leisure.

2. The new system also caters to people who don't necessarily want to be a jedi but want a little more out of their master character, like me.

3. The economy and profession system isn't as messed up. People will at least play how they want to play now and not pollute the cantina with 50 afk novice dancers.

4. all this and the actual jedi population will be healthier even if it is still blown out of proportion because there will be jedi who are not powergamers now too.

So now I ask who's 15 bucks a month is worth more? mine or the people who don't like the new system cuz it takes too long to get their uber jedi or second character slot. If you please them, then I am unhappy and my 15 bucks a month is at stake.

I must say I disagree,When you break it down about the other things you can do in the game SWG is very limited.Sure there are alot of proffesions blah blah blah. But as a whole the game is very repetitive it its makings.Sure go do Jabbas theme or The Imperial theme park, ita all the same when you break it down, deliver this kill that make me a peice of junk. For some people Jedi is all that is left that is unique and diffrent.Once they get one they will see its the same thing but instead your doing it with a Lightsaber. Then boredom hits and people leave in flocks.Ans sure my 15 bucks may be pointless but all the people on here pay that, thats a mad amount of cash.In away your right, my 15 is worthless but add it all up.
