like a bad habit.
SBDs ,as they are frequently called, are extremely nasty. on par or worse than the new village sith. (even though some sith are pretty easy, some are brutal)
take a trip to the corvette with a couple friends to get an up close and personal look.
i know they are bad arse, but do they drop anything? I don't believe it that they don't, they must!
They drop nothing.
I've done the DWB with my guild many, many times. We haven't crafted a jetpack because the NPC we had to complete a quest for didn't spawn on the run where we would've had enough time.
Suffice it to say -- we've killed a lot of SBDs. They don't drop anything. The humanoid (black sun, death watch, etc.) mobs in there drop something occasionally, but that's it.

They're just a collection of junk metal, what would you suggest they drop?
Resources? Or maybe batteries
Batteries would be an improvement
I'd give a vote for higher capacity batteries.

Ah yes nopthing is funner than being close to an SBD and hearing it scream "No!" as it falls down. I hate them buggers. The last time I went on the Corvette there were two in the elevator we had to get past. It was just so fun having everyone in the elevator fighting two SBDs not being able to go out cause there were another 3 outside.

They do scream! omg thank you. I thought I was going crazy when I was leading a team through the DWB and heard a SBD aggro me and say "Get over here!"

SBD's were put in the game to make the corvette and dwb very very hard, not to drop loot....to the point that you shouldn't be able to solo them. The vette has 1 fundamental flaw (probablydueto the design of the combat system)that allows you to avoid the SBD's throughout the whole thing and solo the vette.
They were never meant to drop loot.....they simply are to make your life or ah your toon's life a living hell.
Secondly, they are not difficult to kill one-on-one....but if you get ganged up on, then your chances of survival are slim and none.
The one profession that can totally own SBD's is speed capped Pikeman (with some fencer and/or pistoleer to boost the defense).....I know this from experience.
The electricity damage pike's do is the most effective against SBD's....as long as you have 80% kinetic, 80% energy, 80% electricity, 65% - 70% base composite armor on, have some decent buffs, use a COB looping macro (or do it manually whichever you prefer...I prefer manual due to timing issues) and a little medic skills...you can take SBD's easily. I had this exact template the day the corvette went live and out of a group of 10, I was the only one to survive everytime we went up......a close second was a TKM with the proper template and preparation.
Point is, SBD's and any mob in the game is not that hard when you know the ropes.....sith thugs and the one higher than the thugs (forget the name of those), they are hard but nothing like SBD's, NS or SMC elders or krayts.....simply because they do not have the 300+ HAM or heavy armor rating and sith resist are generally lower than SBD's.
Also, I should note, that if it weren't for the poor defenses of BH's, they could probably solo SBD's with their LLC's....but as I said, a master BH has zero defense....so even if you stack fencer and/or pistoleer....they still are not strong in the defense department.
Anyway, not everything in the game should drop loot in my opinion.....it's totally ok with me that sbd's don't drop anything....on the vette you don't even have to fight them......The DWB, well, I have not experienced that much...went in one time to explore and that's it...but a SBD is a SBD whether it's the DWB or corvette...heck even during the droid invasion they were the same, only with 100+ HAM.

What the man said above is 100% right in regards to why they are in the game. To cut a long story short they are meant to stop loot monkies running solo through the vette and grabbing Power Plants and the like by jumping them and bashing them good with their big metal claws and spikey sharp teeth!
..and no that wasnt me you seen feigning death in the round roomnext to the broken droid and armorie...

You can go up to the vette, run around die multiple times and still get good loot. Especially with tka mediate/powerboost and some food. Just run to the containers and start looting. Not that is even necessary to run around the vette and try and loot containers.
SBD's are another example of making us stack templates to play. Because the only way they can make content in this game is to just throw out high ham high armored mobs. Which by the way take way to long to kill. Again because its the only content to actually do that isn't pvp.
They aren't intelligent enough to make complex puzzles. The best rooms are the Geo caves because at least you have to figure out something.
What little high end content exists is typically camped or takes so many hours of prep to engage in I just avoid. This leaves 2 options. Grind or quit.
Anyways that was to much of a digression. SBD's drop zip zero zlich. Why? Why do 90k ham disease hard as heck to location GDK's drop ris components 1 in every 20?
Because the dev's idea of content is a grind.
And I am an addict of this game. That is freaking sad because I hate its design and staff.

Bah, who needs feign death?
I, as a master artisan, have still been able to loot the vette. There have been times I haven't even been in there 10 minutes before I'm out again. The Devs need to realize that the smart looters are still able to go through and loot the vette. About the only thing that would stop it would be - nah, I don't want to give the devs any ideas
.
