Your factional title should only be available to be shown if you are overt, or if your covert it should only show up to members of your own faction. Covert rebels shouldn't be able to run around with their affiliation and rank shown but be unattackable by Imperials that are overt. Of course alliance pilots can show their titles while covert which doesn't make much sense to me.
Oh, and I'm a rebel

just imagine Rebel Colonel as a title, ive been dreaming about that since i got Colonel, like 8+ months ago

Not real obvious from where they stuck it. It's actually printed in the "title bar" of the Ctrl-C Window. and not underneath your Faction Standing Info. Easy to miss, but nice to finally have.
