Lucky for me, the past couple of days I have been looting like crazy and storing the items in back packs on my vendors.
This is not a good idea. If you haven't yet, I might suggest utilizing a bank's Safety Deposit for such things.

Respectfully,
Well a friend of mine just has his entire bank box vanish so thats not safe either

Depending on how long the stuff was in there, it should be recoverable if he/she puts in a ticket. I've also personally seen that it can take a bit o' time to load up the contents.

When this happens, relogging generally brings back my ability to view the contents.

Respectfully,
This assumes the ticket does'nt vanish like the contents of the bank box did

Thanks for the advice... I have heard some horror stories, but unfortunately I am so loaded down with junk, that I have no room in my safe deposit right now. 18 months worth of resources have pretty much claimed most of my safe deposit and inventory space. But again, thanks for the advice.

For those that don't know what I'm referring to here....vendors aren't supposed to be used for "storage" purposes.

Respectfully,
Here's where "supposed to" and reality have to diverge... for one, a stack of 130 of that 999 OQ ditanium steel is "junk" because it's not enough to do anything with until we can recycle it into a stack of generic metal with a bunch of others... as far as loot, it's only junk until you get all the pieces together... you gather enough of EVERY piece to make (for example) 10 giant gongs which each take a large number of components but you can't find any adhesive... then there are a large number of others (naboo sculpture, glass-top table, 2 rugs) that you want to store "everything but..." for, plus now we've got all these new recyclers and a stack of 1-use schematics for headless droids and streetlamps and radios, so you can't delete them because as soon as you make one person a radio you need to learn it again. If you're trying to do all that plus have a crafter character or two there's no way you're storing even a fraction of that in a bank... and as long as it takes to travel, etc we're not going to delete 5 out of 6 of the "red wirings" we need to make a recycler, we want to make 3 or 4 recyclers and we're not doing it as a large loop... go kill one corsair get his item then go kill one meatlump get his etc, that would be the biggest waste of time ever so that means we have 20 "cheap copper batteries" alone that aren't getting deleted or sold until after we've built all the recyclers we're going to.

If you're not aware yet, recyclers will set all the stats for the resource to 200.
So much for saving it for something (other than some specific/special order). I know that I could make some hella good Harvest modules for droids with that, assuming the Cond. was anything above about 800.
Note: I've personally deleted 130 unit stacks of such 'uber' resources. I did it specifically due to what you stated. There's not enough there anymore to even worry about holding on to it. I'd rather have the inventory space back.
as far as loot, it's only junk until you get all the pieces together... you gather enough of EVERY piece to make (for example) 10 giant gongs which each take a large number of components but you can't find any adhesive...then there are a large number of others (naboo sculpture, glass-top table, 2 rugs) that you want to store "everything but..." for,...
On Ahazi, some people have stopped even trying to stock/hoard all this since finished loot kit 'product' is sold for a LOT less than the components used in its production.
...plus now we've got all these new recyclers and a stack of 1-use schematics for headless droids and streetlamps and radios, so you can't delete them because as soon as you make one person a radio you need to learn it again.
Exactly. So why hold on to any? Said client will likely bring you the schematic (if you're the crafter) so that you can make it for them...right?
Use the schematic. Make theitem. Sell.
No inventory issue there.
If you're trying to do all that plus have a crafter character or two there's no way you're storing even a fraction of that in a bank...
I store crated, 'ready-made' droid products in my bank acct. Loot 'hoarding', IMO, is a waste of time since there's massive proliferation of it all over the place. You can't swing a dead cat (already) without being able to find most any of the new available loot. So..why try to hoard it?
With so much of it streaming into the world, its value is going to plummet in no time flat. There's just to economic upside to trying to save 1-use schematics in every nook and cranny of your possible inventory space.
...and as long as it takes to travel, etc...
Oh...you mean, err....minutes?
we're not going to delete 5 out of 6 of the "red wirings" we need to make a recycler, we want to make 3 or 4 recyclers and we're not doing it as a large loop... go kill one corsair get his item then go kill one meatlump get his etc, that would be the biggest waste of time ever so that means we have 20 "cheap copper batteries" alone that aren't getting deleted or sold until after we've built all the recyclers we're going to.
But think about how many people will be doing that. As stated, it will be laughably easy (in no time) find any component or finished recyclers.

I meant 'junk' in the figurative sense.. every thing I have is important to me in one way or another. As a crafter and a fighter, I have a real issue with inventory from time to time. I never seem to have room for all of the things that I want to hold on to.. I am a bit of a pack rat.
