i have mixed feelings about this. On a personal level, i love this mixture. Yet, i have been helping a lot of friends with their missions. They are tier noob to tier 2. It is impossible for them to do it, and it is hard when they get destroyed, and have to repeat all the ground quest to get back to space. I think they should be a walkaround for some people, maybe add extra steps to their quest. There should always be options, if you are flying or ground impaired.

Sorry you're not enjoying it - but I love it too!

It's what the game should have been about right from the start. I've always liked JTL since it came out but it always felt like a seperate game, these quests combine the 2 games beautifully and I sincerely hope we get a lot more content like this!!

I hate the mixed quests.

Space to me is just an arcade game... Follow target, shoot... Boring.

I thought space was going to be like Earth & Beyond with cantinas we could dock at and run around inside of.

For me, the only fun thing about space is running around inside the MP ships. The only reason I want Master pilot is for the MP ship. But I'm happy with my vet reward so I never bothered to master, just 3333. These stupid quests are forcing me to master.

Don't want to sound like an @ss, but you don't have to do the quests.

There are many quests you can do without ever going into space, there are many that you can do without ever having to spend much time on the ground - it was about time we had some that mix the two.

If you don't like it then just stick to doing ground based quests only.

I like space but never had time to play that much with it. I am tier 2 and that is with a character with no combat skills lol. So it is a bit of concern though.

However one option might be to do the space quests in group with a multi-player ship. Need one master pilot though.

These combined missions are fantastic, you can't get upset about them just because you can't do them.

I thoroughly enjoyed it and was amazed at how it all tied in beautifully, I got a real sense of accomplishment out of it and it must be the first time a SWG quest has ever given me that.

The entrance to the hunting grounds is for players that have taken the time to play the game... if you haven't bothered to play JTL before then that's your fault.

I am a 2222 pilot, so I should be able to handle these ships no problem. When I played in space before, I was able to handle groups of enemies like this without too much difficulty.

Get another tier under your belt and you'll see a big difference and no-where was it said that tier 2 pilots could handle it... particularly the Crimson Guard Interceptor mission.

As for tying the ground and space together... AT LAST!!!! This"IS" Star Wars after all.

I think it's great to have these combined missions, as someone said above me, swg and jtl seemed like two seperate games, now we have something that combines both.

yes it is annoying for those that haven't skilled anything as pilot, my alt character only has novice pilot. but mostly just get some friends to help and you should get around most of it.

concerning the hunting grounds for example... seems the devs want this to be for advanced players only, so don't moan and go get some pilot skills advanced = players who spent their time leveling all available aspects of their char, not the choosy ones who just used jtl as cheap transport

To get access to certain areas of an expansion I paid in full... I do have to go into space.

There is nothing I hate more than quests that must be done in order to gain access to areas. I hated it on EQ2 and of course here it is in SWG. Go figure.

the lag you talk about is caused by either not having a good enough computer or if you have good ram at least 1gig, it is more than likely the same problem i used to have . i went on tech support chat about it and they told me it is the firewall. you can either completely turn off or uninstall firewall software or contact soe like i did and they will e-mail you a list of their ip adresses and how to tell common firewall systems to allow all traffic from those addresses without always scanning the info before sending it to you in game. 98% of all lag i experienced is gone.

there are also some people who get motion sickness in space ... imo it is extremely unfair that we are forced to go into space in order to access parts of the ground game.

So last night me and a few friends were trying to get into the hunting reserve (or whatever its called) in Wookieeland.
We each split up, as we got the hides at different times. I get to the point where I have to do the space excort mission.
Background: I bought JTL when it came out and really did not like it too much. The twitch aspect is not what I wanted in an MMORPG. I have a PS2 for that if I want.
So I am in space doing the escort, talking with my bud that are doing theirs as well. I get jumped by the fighters and the lag is so awful, that I can not hit these ships at all. The fighters are making right-angle turns and rubber-banding all over the place. Maybe its because I am playing at a peak time, but it was awful. My two friends had the same issues and gave up on it.
Basically, their opinion was that wookieeland can go to (your favorite place here). I am of a similar opinion. I know that the devs want to integrate the ground and space game, but I think they should understand that there is a large group of players that do not like the space game. I being one of them.
This also ties into the Boba Fett Relics quest, where I got waxed in space because I couldn't kill the fighters and got ganked by some neighboring fighters that agro'd me. Now I am stuck on that quest too, unable to go forward or backward in it.
Please devs, put some thought into making resets for these quests so that players who fail or have technical (lag) problems, can do them again. Otherwise, you are locking us out of a lot of the new content.
Thanks,
Eawet

I absolutely love the ground/space interaction. This is what has been missing from SWG in my opinion. If you watch the movies you always see ground and space action. This is the most immersion I've experienced in game.

I can relate to the lag though. Space has been more laggy for me lately. In fact, everything has been more laggy for me. It's not gfx related either. I've tried turning everything off, and get the same lag. It is extremely bad in Kashyyyk space. So I can sympathize with you. To keep my immersion going, I just pretended the lag was do to the pilots +rooting+ me in space ) .

I'm glad they added new space stuff, since they totally ruined the ground game for a good portion of players it's only fair that the rest of the players get to bend over and take one for the good of the game.
