The xp requirements will hopefully get people playing their chosen professions more, too. Or, it could lead to a new wave of grinders, how many AFK dancers and musicians are we going to have as people leave them going to gain xp as the sleep/work ect? You might not need to grind through 25+ professions, but you still need a ton a xp, and I'm sure many lazy players will be doing things like this.

I realized how sad that was now that i think about it. For my character i can turnover any combat xp for the jedi xp, i am maxed on ever possible xp, but other will find the cheapest xp and use that. Though i hear entertainers can't convert their xp

They convert it for sensing xp. Medical xp can be converted too ( YEP, afk tumblers will be even MORE common). You think hologrinding is over??????? IT HAS ONLY JUST BEGUN. There will be holocrafters, who need crafting xp to complete another box ( crafting mastery). Their will be alot of afk entertainers, for the sensing xp. I can't stand combat, but I'm sure I'll have to do more than a little, just so I can get my crafting boxes. This means I'll have to do at least some weapons grinding ( joy). I don't give a damn about Jedi. However, crafting mastery gives an edge to crafters. So, agrinding I will go. At least I get xp for hand crafting my armor. Too bad the cap is so freaking low, which will actually DISCOURAGE crafters from turning in xp as you go. I don't want to have to go to Dath twice a day to dump xp, while I restock. Artisan xp caps at 50k, armor at 120k. Think my tailor is the same, I'd have to check.

Since different boxes require different types of xp to be converted, there will still be alot of the elements of the hated hologrind. The difference? Instead of a few million xp to make Jedi, it's now 132 million xp. GOOD LUCK~!

I honestly think holo grinding helped quite a bit, I know when I was grinding through crafting professions, I spent millions to buy resources to get me through, spending like 2-3 million per for armor smith and weapons smith, so the people with harvestors selling resources made quite a bit of money off people. Now they will go back to only selling to a few select people.

Also, I remember when it was hard to find musicians and dancers in some places, even before player cities. now when I need my mind healed, I don't have to go far.

Not to mention, during my hologrinding, I learned a great deal about other professions and learned to respect what others had to go through to do what they did. Like crafters, entertainers, etc. Also, grinding through combat professions, I usually stayed a certain profession for a little bit of time and over all it helped with my pvp because I knew the capabilities and weaknesses of other professions. I was Master rifle for 8 months and Master pike for about 4. My latest is BH and some commando and I've been that for 2 months now and it is fun. I probably wouldn't have ever done it if I wasn't trying to get profession badges and stuff.

Tumbling for med XP can be fixed real easy. Get the new HAM system out ASAP so that tumbling no longer causes action damage, just depletes the special bar.

Yeap, SOE has not changed the path to jedi at all. You must still GRIND XP to get Jedi, only now the system no longer tracks professions mastered as an additional "box" needed to get your FS slot opened.

AFK grinders will never go away. Oh well....

There is a clear difference here: You do not have to do trees you do not want to. So those people who are crafters do the crafting tree, combat profs do the combat tree, you may have to cross over at some point but you won't be forced to gain FS crafting xp or combat xp or sensing xp (by whatever method) if you do not want to.

AFK grinders will be diminished with the supposed end of looping macros, people who wish to afk (entertainers specifically) will get much much less XP than before as they will not be able to do specials/flourishes after a certain while of AFKing

No-one is saying that grinding has come to an end, Holo Grinding has! there are no two ways about it.

No-one is going to be forced to do professions they do not want to.

Yes, you no longer need to grind professions you don't want to get your jedi. Thegrinding of professionshas been taken out, grinding xp and the ways to do it have not. We will have to wait and see if other changes bring about the end to afk grinders but for now I don't see them being reduced at all.

Grinding is a state of mind. I did not want to master different professions other than the ones i wanted... and I didn't, I've been a commando something since last july (over a year, OMG) I routinely hunt and kill every rebel NPC i see. I routinely farm PC bases just for the heck of it, just to try out new skills i picked up or a new gun. I've been maxed on ALL xp needed for commando/BH/SL/Smuggler for at least 2 months. Now i can convert this excess xp to FS skills... and I like it... whats neat is that when the holos came out, i got one... it told me to master BH... i said screw that, mastered about 5 other professions, got another holo, it told me that it had shutup... makes me wonder what i would be doing in the game if i bothered to finish the BH carbine tree.

Nope, they didn't and i wouldn't, now maybe cantinas will come back to life and medcenters will have actual doctors rather than tumblers. This game just got 100% better by killing the grinders.

I kinda wish they would have included the looping macro nerf.. But oh well!

only way you can remove the AFK gamer really...

only profession it would really effect is the entertainers.
