me and 7 other people did this. We were all level 80 and we failed to kill him. We made it past all the spiders got the crystal and then were getting rdy to spice up when some moron talked to the droid "by mistake" after he was told not 2. Then once were in the room necrosis spawns in our combat medic talked to the droid who spawns necrosis (again after everyone was told not 2) 3 people died right there and then it was the 5 of us left. We regrouped in the back of the cave and then killed the 2 droids and then tried to kill the power things. They were 180 M behind a gate that we couldnt get past. So when the guy who went to kill them came back necrosis killed him and because people dont listen to directions we got pretty much owned. Im wondering why we had this power charging destruction problem and what we did wrong. Thanks

good guide.

Have done this a few times with groups of 2-5 with no problems. DId it in a bit different order though.

Shoot the object called machine first this will aggro necrosis. once he is away from his guards root him. Then blow up the power cells. Keep him rooted and fire away til he dies. If he moves before you stick a root your group can keep backing up to avoid his attacks for quitea while.

After he goes down have one person agro the guards and run back towards group. We root the closest guard and then to pullest goes FD and the other guard goes back to post.

Finish pulled guard then go kill the other one.

Also another tip and solid group of 4-5 can clear the spiders without too much trouble. just remember to focus all fire on same spider and for most of the way you can deal with only one at a time due to how they are spaced.

This is a fun quest. Highly recommend it.

"When Sony and Lucas set out, we said, How can we do this and not make another EQ? We didn't want it to be all about Luke, or combat, or lock our players into a class. So we created a system that would allow players to switch professions during the game, and there would be a lot of gameplay around making that change. If you want to go from architect to scout we've created a system to make that happen."

To get the mission talk to the droid and he'll send you for a crystal. Like previously stated the radiated crystal you need is at the bottom room of the spiral up into the Lost One cavern.

Getting in can be an issue, make sure you have clearly planned who will be accepting the mission before you do anything. On arriving take advantage of a few moments rest, this way you are properly prepared.

Once ready for entry, gather around the droid, it is possible to be left behind if you are not close enough. Don't guess, get as close as you can.

Inside, we did it a bit differently than the guy that wrote this guide. Not knocking how he did it, we had one Master Defender Jedi, 2 carbiners, and a pistoleer/smuggler. We used nice self repair probots to pull the guards one at a time, took them out very quickly. Once we were ready to hit necrosis, we let our jedi tank him about 45-50m above where you enter the cave. We had two probots set to stay firing on him, our pistoleer/smuggler throwing debuffs & roots, and myself (MBH/MC) and the other carbiner laying into him for all the damage we could. Occasionally i'd throw a kd out to let us do more damage, and the Jedi would take quick breaks when necro got rooted.

We successfully did this mission 5 times back to back (we let the jedi play agro monkey to run through the caves without fighting). And while I like the above method for groups without Jedi, with our smaller group, after 5 trips we each walked away with 3 or 4 loot items. (no crystals though).

Of course, then the issue comes up of how can any melee characters aside from Jedi effectively take him on? Any insight for that, or are the melee characters going to be screwed out of any fighting of any super high level mob because of the damage they can dish out?

i've done this mission twice now as tkm/master fencer in a group. if you are tkm use your powerboost and cob, take your food, hit your kd's, hit your armor breaks, and use your stims. since you aren't going to be doing the most damage, they aren't going to come after you anyway. just avoid the big hits from the dervish and it's pretty simple to survive.

A few friends and I did this encounter a few times the other day.

There was myself (TKM/0444 Swords with 4004 doctor), a Master creature handler/Master Pistoleer, a Master Rifle/mixed Bh/4000 combat medic, and a Master BH/mixed Carbineer/4000 combat medic.

Had 1 of us run up and talk to Treorn or whatever the scientist's name is to spawn Necrosis and his 2 buddies, then that person ran back down to the bottom of the hill before they got aggro.

Then we used the creature handler to solo pull the two NK-3 droids one at a time with a pet and killed them.

Next I buffed everyone up and everyone used their food/spices and we used the creature handler pet to pull Necrosis down the hill away from the machine.

I kept CoB up and made sure Armor Break was constantly on Necrosis and kept cycling the single target and AoE taunts to keep aggro while throwing in random melee styles when I could.

The other 3 stood out of saber range to avoid getting hit and the 2 combat medics kept using ranged heals on me while I was using my 3 doctor heals.

Took Necrosis down with 4 with no jedi, no roots, and a metric buttload of healing.

/sigh

You don't have to kill the guards first. They won't even help Necrosis if you pull him properly.

Talk to Tren run back imediately towards the entrance. Let Necrosis walk up and start charging. If he goes to the machine hit him and pull him back towards your group. If not and he stays near his guards slowly advance on him till you see the question mark about his head. Stand there till you see ! above him and start running back to your group. Necrosis will be the only one on you. -root- him and have your tank play with him while you take out the power cells and Machine. (Just so you know sometimes Necrosis will "spawn" new power cells after you've destroyed the first ones. And he only does it when he feels like healing.)

If you have the right mix of ppl you can kill him with just yourself and one other.
One of you needs to be ranged crowd control and the other a TKM. The Ranged one of you stays more then 25m away. The tank applies armor break and knocks Nec down after your root breaks and applies a snare. The Ranged one of you does the dmg so Necrosis will be agroing that person as well as applies -root-.

I've done it with tkm/fencer as a MSmuggler/Mpistoleer/44xx Commando and as a MBhountyHunter/Mpistoleer xxx3 Smuggler with a MDefender/4xx4 Saber/3 Healer Jedi.
