*raise hand* I'll get my XP when I can but I'm not going to burn myself out on it. When the game stops being fun its not a game. Right now I'm enjoying the new village content and missions. Besides when JTLS comes out I won't be doing much XP grinding unless Space XP can convert to FXP.

I have never been in a hurry to do ANYTHING in this game. Makes the fun last longer that way.

I plan on eventually getting to Jedi Initiate. Mainly just to get my second character slot and start working on FS ALL over again. This time all the way up the Jedi line (hopefully)

I've been FS since 2 days after PUB 10 and just got my a Novice FS box last night.

I completed Cpt. Sarguillo's quest, not for the slot, but for the banner

It's not about the goal, but how you go about getting there. Trust me, I'm as excited as anyone about getting done, but I'm taking my time and pooling xp so I'll be prepared...and I want to see that statue

Same here. It's refreshing to find a reason to use my skills beyond master. Because, to be frank,it's been EONS sincethere was a point to using my pets in battle.

I'm in no rush whatsoever. In fact, I don't really care about becoming a Jedi.

I didn't buy this game to be a Jedi. I always thought that if it happens...it happens. If it doesn't, oh well.

Ibought this game to immerse myself into the Star Wars universe and have fun with old friends and new. The current degradation of many players becoming "Jedi-obsessed" is rather disheartening. But I won't say that I didn't do at least one holo profession before and certainly won't say that I didn't try to become "glowy" now (which I am)

But each time I caught myself before I got swept up in the rage of the latest grinding rampage. When hologrinding started, I did my one profession and then realized that doing this was going to take away from my daily fun...how many of you can seriously say that you (/sarcasm on) "Really enjoy grinding oh so much!!!" (/sarcasm off)

The same thing happened to me just as I got the visit from the old man after blowing through getting Jabba's badge to get my "inner glow".

Rather than joining the craze to get to Padawan and beyond, I'm looking forward to using some of the FS skills to enhance my current character, no matter what profession I chose. (right now I'm frothing at the mouth to get the melee and range defense bonus boxes for FS to use for...well...hunting Jedi)

I'll probably still get a beat down, more often, than not...but at least I'll be out having fun (win or lose), rather than sitting in the Geo Cave or some other popular grind location all fricking day and night for endless weeks, just to get something from which the rewards will likely not justify my time and money spent.

Bottom line, to each their own. But, my vote will always be for having fun before anything else.

Happy gaming!

Sounds familiar... I'm planning on completing all the quests I can complete, in addition to getting xp for the combat branches.

I've noticed a lot of complaints on the forums about being 'forced' to take branches that are 'useless' to their characters.... well, no, actually... just because you unlock a branch doesn't mean you have to fill it up, there's no time limit on getting XP for any branch, and you're not limited to 6 branches of unlocking... in theory, you could take all 64 skill points worth of FS skills if you *really, really* wanted to.

I'm not going to go that far, though.

I finished my quest quite early. Being a master doctor, I did the heighten senses tree. I had holo credit so i got unlock the sense before unlocking the phase quest. (sorry if that confuses anyone)

Anway. I am running around doing my normal everyday stuff and when I have enough xp to make the trip worth while. I head to dath and covert it.

I plan on enjoying each phase as I do everyday in the game. I am in no rush.

I don't play SWG because it is a game. I play it because it is Star Wars.

i'm in no hurry to do the quests. i'm in a bit of a hurry to get the old man visit out of the way so I can actually start doing the quests. but beyond that, no rush at all.

Got glowy on the first day after Publish 10 but not from tryingto be glowie. I've visited the POI's from thevery beginning as an explorer, I'veventured into the corvette and themeparksto do the part. Isaw the old man on the 3rd or 4th day after the publish, Sith on the fifth, went to the camp on the 6th to see what it was all about...

Didn't hologrind (mastered 3 professions) so I didn't get any credit... ran the patrol missions for the Captain (8 more and I'll get the lovely flag)...

Other than that I'll convert my capped XP to pickup whatever FS bonuses are applicable... but I'm not in any hurry of any sort. It'll probably take me 6 months to a year to get 4 Lines out fo the 16 Available... Jedi isn't in the future... never was... never will.

As a Rebel Soldier I haven't got to time to be wrapped up in the self-absorded pursuit of becoming a Jedi. There's "things" that need to be done and the inside of my A-Wing or YT-3000 will be my office...

Excellent thread.

I'm not in a hurry either. I will admit that being able to "cash in" xp does give me more incentive to go out there and use the skills I've already mastered (I mean, what's the point of fighting with a given weapon if you get nothing out of it?).

This will give me another motivation to go back out and do some combat missions, as I'll be earning more than just money. Still, I'm in no hurry. I don't feel compelled to go out every day, cap my weapons and combat xp and fly to Dath to trade it in.

I didn't grind when holos were out and I'm not about to start. As soon as an activity in a game feels like a "grind" to me, I know I'm doing something wrong.
