Thread: Guide to Xping in the cu

Guys, read the Jedi Profession boards, that's why they're there
There has been a few posts on this topic already.
Summary for the Jedi grind:
1. GROUP with several ranged ppl.
2. The ranged ppl stay 33+ meters away from the Jedi AT ALL TIMES!
3. The Jedi gets in ONE hit on a creature.
4. The ranged ppl then kill it quickly before the Jedi takes too much damage. Everyone gets good xp doing this, btw.
5. Rinse and repeat.
There have been reports in the Jedi forums that hunting swirl prongs on Endor gets the ranged ppl 5000-6000 xp and the Jedi gets 800-900 or so.
THAT's what a Jedi is supposed to do, until (hopefully) we get a fix and are able to solo again.

sure that works great, as long as you have a bunch of rifleman friends to tag along with you. As a rifleman I know that will get old fast, plus you know someone will always get into range anyway.
The system needs to be fixed so that xp is based upon level with weapon used.

i was in a couple lvl 80 groups today and was only getting around 1.6k rifle xp per kill--I am novice rifleman 2101 with combat lvl 22. Everyone else was getting good xp it seems--any ideas on why i wasn't?
In a group, your CL is temporarily raised to match the highest CL in the group (according to dev posts). The mob levels in the mission will (should - some are broken) be set to the group level. However, the xp you receive is the same as what you would get if you solo'd a mob of the same "con" color (blue, white, yellow). I'm a CL 16 novice commando and I get around 800xp for killing a blue solo. If I group, no matter what level my groupmates are, I will get 800xp for killing a mob that cons blue to the group level.
Please correct me if I'm wrong. I'm basically parrotting information from dev, mod and team lead posts.

You have to make sure that the group is complete before taking any missions. The CL
of the mission is assigned when it is taken.
Aside from the occasional bug that makes the spawn be too low of a level (which I've
only encountered once or twice), you should be good to go.

step one. get a well balanced group, few ranged, few melee, having novice medic is a must.
step two. get picket longhorn missions on dantooine, they will either conn 79 or 81 depending on your group, and will spawn around 100 creatures.
step three. have a rifleman or ranged character pull the closest picket to you, usually on the far left or far right of the lair's spawns and then knee cap shot, or root/kd it and bam 6000 to 6500 xp per kill.
step four. rinse and repeat, pulling one or two at a time is key and making sure to slow them on first attack is crucial, u can get 300-400k xp per picket mission and takes about twenty minutes.
I know this guide isnt very complicated but theres a reason, because it isnt as hugely complecated/hard as everyone thinks it is to get xp.
You know THIS is exactly my problem with the CU.
