Hern brings a good point, thought I would say accuracy is more important for other reasons as well. While it determines whether or not you hit your target, it also determines how hard you hit your target.


Suppose you have a rifle with 450-1180 damage. With an accuracy significantly lower than your target's defenses, you'll be hitting for close to 450 x [specialMultiplier] on your shots; whereas if you have an accuracy significantly higher than your target's defenses, you'll be hitting for closer to 1180 x [specialMultiplier].


So not only will you hit more often, you'll hit a lot harder as well.


Defense is nice if you plan on tanking your opponent, but who said you have to get hit? Any rifleman can solo a GrandKrayt, even post-24, as long as they know a few tactics. (personally I just solo'd an ancient to prove to myself it could still be done but it was a bit of a hassle.)
