gildrian wrote:Im sorry maybe I read this wrong, but 250-350? Total suit encumberence????!It sounds like many players prefer Effectiveness Sliced 30-40% Stun Composite for PVP encounters....& Encumberence slices on composite that may have mulitiple 70-80% range protections (ie- kin, blast, elec, etc.)when used for high lvl PVE encounters. But what is YOUR max allowable total ALLOWABLE encumberence on YOUR Composite Armor...regardless of whether it is sliced for encumberence or for effectiveness? Thanks for reading/replying to this post..
Yup 250-350.
But never wear full suit, because of encumberence.
Helmet, chest, gloves, boots.
All you need when you're human.
Unless I find affordable pre-sliced vendor, I usually buy unsliced and deal with the slice.
My secondaries are around 500-600 and I don't use doc buff so half of my secondaries is the max I'm ready to accept.
Beside, on my server, 35%+ stun armor is luxury I and most can't afford.
Last auction I saw both a full suit of compo 80% base 38% stun, and a 4 piece set, sold for 3M+ each.
So, not for me.
If I could find energy armor with low encumberence on my server, I would probably buy it too, and drop for good compo.

All you need when you're human.I presume this is because theoretically, the gloves protect against all arm hits and the boots against all leg hits? You say "when you're human", would this also apply to any race that can wear armor gloves and boots?
A theory that seem to works for me for the last 4 or 5 months (well at least 95% of the time).
I've read report that it works different way for different race, but all I know is human, so I can't tell you exactly for the other races.

Cool, thanks for the info. I will have to try it with my Zabrak, and recommend it to a Bothan friend.
It seems to make sense - but if this were accurate, why do my bracers and biceps and leggings take damage when I wear them? It would seem that there's gfot to be some way for the system to determine what sapecific part of the arm or leg is hit.
If it works, great - but I'm not to keen to die to disprove the theory.

It works like that :
If you wear bracer, you'll be hit to the arm.
If you don't wear bracer and biceps, you'll be hit on gloves and chest instead.
That means you need less part of armor, but you'll replace your armor more often.
I didn't tested in publish 10, but before it worked well.
Check the AS forum if you wanna be sure.

So, you are wearing a helm, boots, gloves, and chest plate and these cover the bases for you as a human...rgr that, Im a human too and willtry it tonite grinding..and TY for the advice on that, do you use these pieces only as well for PVP?
OK, back to the encumb. issue...250-300, is that per pool? as in 300 for foc/will, 300 for con/st, & 300 for quick/st? For a total of 900, adding all 3 pool setsup? Just my confusion, Im sure Im just not understanding and my apologies for making you repeat...but thank you!!!!
Thanks everyone for reading/replying to this string!!!!

I can care less about encumberance. Buffed Humanoid + 2 Vas Brandy + 2 Ahrissa, and the ocasion Muon for pvp and it wont matter. My Composite PvP Suit runs around 650 total HAM encumb, 40% Helmet/Chest (70-80% effectiveness slice), a PvE Pants/Boots (again, 70-80% eff. slice) and then i have encumberence sliced gloves, bracers, and biceps (because not really hit in pvp). Anways, back to the point -- 650 max encumb on pvp, and lol around 900 total encumb on my pve suit... but it dont matter. a good buff/mind buffs + vas brandy and you're good to go.
man, i overposted... this is all nonsense.

Encumbrance, when i was armorsmith there always a bugg. That is doesnt matter which 1 bar you expertment it will increase the effectiviness stats.
If you expertment on the special protection it will increase the special protection and the effectivenss.
If you expertment on the encumbrance it will incrase the encrumbrance and effectivness.
So my suggestion is max out on special protection and put rest o the point on encumbrance.
Everybox = 1% increase(usually). the last box will give you 5%. That is way you want to max out.
I hope this will hope

Thanks to everyone who replied to this thread...I did in fact take all of this advice and its working already. As a human the helm/chest/pant/boots/gloves is all ive needed PVE...thank you!
Also, I can see why effectiveness sliced armor is worth the investment over encumb for pvp...first few encounters have gone far more smoothly with the 25-40 stun 70-82overall comp. I have not dropped the bi's and bracers for PVP yet, but Im going to try it.
SWG Forums are the best around, I have learned so much in the last two months than I did in the previos 5 mos playing without them.
THANKS...Im having fun again!
Thank you for reading and/or replying to this thread!!!

If you find an Armorsmith making Bone Armor Interweave Segments (I think that is what they are called) and have a Master Artisan make you some Bone Armor, then you have High Energy Resist Armor with low Encumbrance.
I love my suit of Krayt Bone Armor, but I am hoping that with the Interweave segments, I can get some up in the 70s for resists.

Weight, all the time. Maximum for any armor is 250.
