One thing has changed for sure: players started to whine a lot more... Or got more immature... The end result is the same. I am playing for about 7 months now and I still enjoy it. JTL should prove to be a nice expansion to the game as it will enhance the Star Wars feeling. I love the crafting system in the game. Loot is steadily improving, combat revamp is now being tested on the sandbox servers, as is the GCW revamp. As far as WoW goes... there is simply nothing original about the game. Try reading this review. In my opinion, SWG is still one of the best MMORPG's around, despite the flaws it has atm. Whether that says more about SWG or about the competition, I leave for you to decide.

Best MMORPGS?

Only way I can agree with you here is if you changed it to Best Game Concept.
Because the whole idea of SWG online is great. No doubting that but come on. Anyone in their right openmind can see this game is severly flawed. Weigh the pros to cons. Its that easy. There are beta versions of MMOs out that are in a better state then SWG sadly.

More bugs, more buffs, more gimped jedi. More lies from devs. More crap than we can ever flush in one life. Oh, they finally fixed vehicle warp.

I too just got back into the game aftermany months off. Started the day the game released, (well, technically nobody did...the servers were down most of that day....ahh, memories...) played for about 5 months hardcore, just got back into it recently a few weeks ago.

Some things that make the game better for me:

Speed - You arent spending 2 hours getting where you need to go before you can do anything. With speeders and reduced shuttle times, getting where you want to go is 300% better than before.

Loot - Not sure why they are saying there is no "loot" in the game. Sure, you have to fight hard stuff to get the good stuff, or pay a lot for the good stuff, but there "is" loot in the game, and you can make good money off of high level monsters/mobs if you know where and what to hunt.

Jedi system - Some say its worse, some say better - Either way, IMO, its better and more streamlined way of doing things. Very clear cut. Very hard, but no secrets or surprises on what you need to do.

Combat class - I used to be a Merchant/Architect and amassed a huge fortune before I quit...it was becoming way too much like a 2nd job for me. Switched to combat and killin, and havent looked back since. Basically it has given me something new to do and try out, rather than sitting in a dungeon crafting 6 hours a day simply for money that had no purpose.

Some class upgrades - Chef, Docs, Droid Engineers....lots of nice new things they can make and do for you than they used to. Sure, lots of classes still need work, but there are some nice changes to some of them.

World map finally got some good upgrades, also with vendors in general. Less people with vendors full of junk (Still a lot out there, but a few less)

Stuff I dont like, or hasnt really changed:

PvP - Sucks. Its all about who is a Combat Medic, or who has Mind DoT or Stun Baton abilities. Group TEFing is the norm. All you see is roving bands of people picking off the occasional guy who is alone with a TEF or decides to attack the person they "think" is alone, which they never are. Enter - GTEF griefing.

Cant repair a vehicle once it is immobile, regardless. Doesnt really make any sense why you cant repair your AV-21 after it got smashed, or even your speeder. This should be different. Maybe triple the costs to repair a down speeder, but totally destroyed AV-21? That really sucks....

Still cant place harvesters on ground unless you get out your laser planing tool and ensure that the ground is exacly 90 degrees perpindicular. (sarcasm off) No reason why there shouldnt be more leeway with these STILL.

Still no decay for architects. You make something, its sold, you will never sell to that customer again, other than certian lights that are cheap, and last a month or so anyway. Bad economy for the starting architect. No hope.

Still a mere 6k limit on the bazaar. This should have been raised a LOT higher long, long ago. At least to 10k. Otherwise, you must sell it elsewhere or pickup Artisan/merchant.

Community as a whole is pretty dull...no real chat or communication with the outside world other than guildchat. Needs to be more open chat channels. Ive been playing a month, and know like, 2 people.

These are some of my annoyances....I know there are more, just cant think of them off the top of my head

Yep...
It sure is. SOE has f'd up for the last time it seems like. Everyone I know is starting to leave. And with WoW and other great RPG's coming out, it makes it harder to stay on a sinking ship.

If SOE was smart, they would give everyone a JEDI and add BETTER content as quickly as possible. Otherwise, I the end is very near.

Dude , what are you talking about....WoW? Looks really crappy, read some reveiws about it, its not any different....Of course people leave SWG, its a game, it gets boring and such...theres no way around it...People left Everquest as well....The ship isnt sinking...JTL is right around the corner...BUT, if JTL is a bust.....People will leave this game in hoards....Cant wait to see what happens!

nothing in your initial post has changed whatsoever. Game is more broken that ever. Quests are totally points less still, Deliver, Destroy, Craft. Thats it! lol. The only challenging yet still pointless quest is the new death watch bunker quest to get the Alum Minerals, Very Hard to do

Abaddon - Tristain - Kaylani - Sumurka - Within - Russell - Schematamat - Rie
