I think it is a fair question, and one I have asked myself enough before ordering EQ2.

However, EQ2 doesn't have the same canon/backstory to live up to, it can grow and be organic without having an established franchise hanging over its head. Yes, I know there is EQ1 - but being set 500 years after EQ1, EQ" has the freedom to use it has a foundation and then grow independently.

EQ2 does not have a notion of Uber class (I say notion, because I am not sure Jedi truly are Uber at this point). When we had patches that worked on chefs say, or DE's, that is fine because anyone can be one of those. But two patches and months of work dedicated to jedi - when a large portion of the player base either cannot dedicate the time to be one, or do not wish to for immersion reasons (for example)- feels deeply unfair and I am annoyed at not gaining any benefit from my sub.

Ditto JTL. I'm sorry but has it not been WELL over a month since the last patch? Where is Patch 11? Why do we not know about Patch 11 yet? It is profoundly wrong to say - we are focusing on JTL - as that assumes everyone is buying it and are content with not getting what the pay for when they pay a sub to SWG. I love RPG. Which is why I bought one (and for 6 months, loved it dearly). I am rubbish at twitch, do not enjoy them and do not buy them. So I am not buying JTL. And yet I would have to wait for the new patch for the game I HAVE paid for.

And I do feel, as a player base, we have all been let down. I want a fresh start. I want to not be angry about the "combat balance", used to fob us off when we wanted answers and then yanked out from under us. And I was a Master Smuggler too - and I think anyone who has read the forums knows what went wrong for us. More broken promises.

I loved the game, and hated what was done to it. Left with great reluctance and sadness. Am hoping SOE have learned some lessons.
