Where I live, our trials are never speedy nor quick.Sometimes the police lack people and resources to complete their investigation on time. And all courts have a lack of personelincluding judges. This leads to people having to wait several months at least andmore then ofteneven years (!) before they get their trial.

Yep. Reminds of a friend that was pulled over for speeding one night then arrested for drunk driving. He was taken to jail, given a blood test, spent the night in jail. License was suspended andhe had to wait over a month before his blood test result showed that he was not intoxicated. Finally had his court date 2 months after the incident and the charges were dropped.

No reimbursement for his time or loss of license for 2 months. DMV stated that driving was a privilege not a right and the DMV could revoke or suspend anyones driving privilidge and it is not law or a constitutional right that people are allowed to opperate a motor vehicle.

He must have had a crappy lawyer.

There are long threads that I've started myself on our forums, but we have community representatives that are answering questions diligently on our forums already, and I'm very involved in what's being said.

Actually, in the French justice system, you are guilty until proven innocent and the burden of proof is on the accused, not the accuser. Go figure.

If your account is banned, then SOE will send you no email notifying you. I was banned, and after a month of countless emails and phone calls i was able to prove that i did nothing wrong and was unbanned. It took 3 or 4 phone calls and 2 or 3 emails JUST for them to tell me my account had been banned, and over the phone they confirmed that no emails are sent to banned accounts.

I was once wronglysuspended and about to get banneda few months ago for using racials slurs and other vile things. I immediately sent them e-mails after they sent me my suspension notice.I askedthem for a log of what happened and it turns out that the person using the bad words was on a completely different account and got this mail

"I'm very glad you brought this to our attention as there has obviously been
a mixup in this process. Please accept our most sincere apologies as we
correct this for you. Your account has been reactivated, you will not lose
any time that you have paid for, and your record will be fully expunged of
this incident; however, in order to reactivate your account you will be
required to re-enter your credit card information. Again, I apologize for
the mixup, I'm at a loss as to how I could have mixed you and this other
player up. If you have any questions or need any assistance please let me
know and I will do whatever I can to assist."

There is always a chance of a mix-up. Just let the CSR staff sorts things out. As much as I believe in the Justinian code of "innocent until proven guilty," this recent credit dupe could have destroyed this game forever.

Blair just posted this...

Greetings...

  • All persons potentially involved in the dupe have been banned or suspended.

  • People who have been banned or suspended are going through the appeals process now. Each case is resolved privately between the customer and customer service. The appeals process will be complete by early next week.

  • Over 75% of the duped credits are being removed from the economy preventing hyper-inflation in the SWG economy.

  • No vendor owners were suspended for purchases made from their vendor with duped credits, only people that had money directly transferred to them were affected.

  • We are committed to maintaining a safe and fair playing environment and exploiting will not be tolerated.

The same message is now posted on the launchpad too. Good work this time; very clear and informative. I just wish they had done that a little sooner.

Don't know much about his lawyer but the delay was designated by the courts when his hearing date was or when the DA had time to reveiw the case. Regardless of lawyer in our state it doesn't matter DMV can take your license at will and sort it out later. And they do not have to give it back even if the court finds you innocent of the charge. They say that out of courtesy they will let you have it back should you be clear of the charges. It is a privilage that we pay for and not a right, similar to SOE rules.
