There were three parts to it, and in a way they were all open for a limited time. The side that won each part of the story got some advantage during the next section.

I know that part 3 of Cries of Alderaan is still running, or at least it was about a month ago. Sorry, I can't point you in the right direction on where to get started.

For the most part, it ended, but the Devs never gave us the prologue. Its kind of like how they have not proceeded with the next step in the current monthly story arc for some time now.

First part was opened up in lateSept of 03. If i remember right you had to collect 4 encoded transmission disks, which dropped off of all npc's. once you collected them you turned them into your local faction recruiter.

This opened the second part which started at the coordinators, can't remember all fo the details about this quest, just remember deadeye decoder thingy, andsearching for some chick out in the wilderness then goin to lok and killing a nest of stormies to open up some com thingy.

Third part started with some supply officer needing alderanian flora.. had to get that by raiding some depot on yavin. after that you had to protect some rebels and a factory from an Imp assault.
