Well, watch out for the Meatlumps. They can be kinda mean for the newbies.

Also, don't spam in front of starports, turn into an AFK buff bot, or shout for tips and heals in the cantinas. As long as you don't do these, you'll generally be accepted by the overall population. Might I suggest Valcyn as your server?

I am currently on the Corbantis server but I just started. Is there any specific reason why I should move to that? Is it a newbie server, less lag?

Also what is this Publish 10 that I have been seeing?

Hi all, I just recently bought the game and I was wondering what skills should I start out with if my goal is to become jedi? What do I need to level up in the most.

Thanks

Hi, and welcome to the game and these forums. (BTW as you already have noticed, a lot of posts aren't worth 2 cents)

The road to becoming a Jedi is going to be a long one that will take a lot of dedication. I would suggest getting to know the game itself before you focus on becoming a Jedi. Make thatthe long term goal.

The first part of becoming a Jedi is to become force sensative. You are entering the game at a point where the whole system for becoming force sensative, and what exactly force sensative means is changing. The old system had to do with mastering professions. That is changing on the next publish and you will not have the time to become force sensative before the system is changed. So you will want to prepare yourself for the new system.

Becoming force sensative in the new system is going to be a mystery. No one has any information on how someone becomes FS in the new system. My guess is that they would want you to actually play the game and get to explore the worlds before opening they make a charactor FS. What I would do is get as many exploration badges as you can, doone or twoof the major themeparks (Jabba's, Rebel, Imperial), and try to master an elite profession to prepare yourself for the new system.

Pick an elite combat profession that you think you would like and start working on getting XP. Enjoy the none Jedi game while you work towards becoming a Jedi and good luck to you.

Yea, like the person before me said, your best bet now is to enjoy the non-jedi side of the game first. In order to really play a jedi effectively, you NEED the experiences of starting fresh and mastering different combat professions in a non-grinding fashion. This is where you will learn how to fight without armor, learn when to use and when not to use special attacks. And many other things you will need to learn about with the game.

As far as becoming jedi. Heres the info I've heard thusfar.

The system is changing, before the method to becoming a jedi involved using 4 holocrons, each telling you a different profession to master. After mastering those 4 professions you could use a holocron again and it would be silent. This meant you had to keep leveling professions untill you unlocked your jedi slot. Thank god this has changed thoough, as the "hologrind" has hurt the game alot.

The new system will involve a series of quest. No one is sure what these quest will entail, where you start them, how you start them, or even how long they will be. One thing we do know is that they will PROBABLY start at a new village being created. We are unsure as to where this village will be, but we do know you will require an invitation to the village before you can enter it. My guess is that a certain number of professions will have to be mastered as well as so many exploration/other badges be earned. The invitiation will allow you to enter the village.

From here on I'll give you my guesses as to what will occur. From my experience as a jedi with the force sensative skills. And my experiences with SOE and how they code crap. You will end up doing a series of quest pertaining to the force sensative skills you want. In other words. If you wanted to get the 4 force sensative skill boxes relating to crafting experimentation, you will have to do a series of crafting quest. Once the entire series is completed, you will earn the exp required to learn those boxes and be able to spend your skill points on them. In order to take the padawan trials(another thing we dont know anything about), you will have to gain 24 skill boxes or more worth of force sensative skills. At 4 each this will be 8 quest series with no idea how many quest will be in each series.

As far as the padawan trials go, I just hope they dont make them like the knight trials. Nothing more generic and retarded than "go kill this over here so many times." Especially considering if your a jedi, then you've probably killed these creatures before with your main.

Anyway...thats all the info I got for you now. If you need anything else, you can /tell Eclipse.felkeen and I'll try and help ya out...you can also /addfriend Eclipse.felkeen to see when I'm online.

Good luck to ya, and I hope you enjoy the game.

Again, welcome to the game and the forums. Go check the "In Development" forum. There's a post there by ThunderHeart about the Village of Aurilla. That post right there (and by post I mean TH's initial post. What follows is mainly flames, complaints, or kudos to the devs about the new system, with no futher information about the system itself) is basically everything anybody knows about the new Jedi system. He did specifically say that it will have nothing to do with mastering professions, so you can rule that out. Other than that, everything else is a mystery.

Good luck with your unlock, and let me know if I can be of any more help. Too bad I'm on Kettemoor, otherwise I could help you a lot more.

I support removing Jedi from the game rather than leaving them as represented in NGE

I read the jedi pre-requisites BUT I dont know if its accurate. What do I need to become a jedi? When it said an imperial theme park, Does completing Prefect's missions in Bestine consider as a imp theme park?

this is how you become a Jedi.

Acquire the proper badges to get "glowy' many guilds out there for this.

Once you have the badges the old man will visit in 1-3days time.

After that abotu 12-24 hours the sith will attack loot them and go to the next sith camp then loot them and proceede to village.

Once you are the village you will then need to go to Paemos to convert your exp in FS exp the ratios are crap so have a lot.

Now visit the guy across from Whip near the ent to the village this is the guy that unlocks the novice boxes. YOU MUST HAVE THE NOVICE BOX FOR THE RIGHT GROUP OF TREES BEFORE YOU CAN GET CREDIT FOR THE QUESTS!! Many people have made this mistake and it cost them a phase so I have heard. Be careful.

Next you do the quest you have thinking ya I am doing a quest that is new for this game.

Once you are done with the questing the bitterness will set in. You must now wait 2 weeks for the first phase to change, it was shortened for some reason, and 3 weeks after every other phase to unlock a new tree. Welcome to the FSG or Force Sensitive Grind. It is even easier and more mind numbing of a grind than before. You taken your current profession and grind it so much you feel like a retarded chimp sitting at your computer not a person while a brain and maybe some cirital thinking skills.

So you finish a tree GRATS! Start saving up that FS exp now. Do not slack cuz if you want to keep ahead then you gotta stock pile it.

Now imo the FS skills do not really do much of any good for the Jedi out there so get the first 4 combat and then the first 2 reflex that come your way if you want a quick route to initiate. I do not think this will "gimp" you since the PvP in this game already blows.

Why do people want jedi?

I am more uber than you cuz I did something a trained reatarded chimp could have done. (also read small man syndrome)

I plan to roleplay him with my city of good roleplayers

I just want the damn glowy stick to keep me occupied until JTL comes out then plan to use my second character slot to have funwith JTL.

I thought the new system would be more intelligent than the old system so that is why I even started.

There is some help I hope it works for you
