I have several broken items that I don't know what to do with them, one of the items being a datapad, and another being a view screen. I've been told I should be able toexamine them and see what I need to fix them, but there is nothing. Are only some of the items fixable?

For those asking...

There were five parts for the datapad, broken datapad itself, datapad battery, datapad backlight, datapad coupler/linker (or something) and the datapad casing.

The 4 items were placed into the datapad casing. For me it worked pretty much like an autoloomed blue rug or the like - just dropped the 4 items into the casing and voila a new datapd appears in it's place.

The datapads or viewscreens don't tell you how to repair themselves only once you have looted 1 of the items required will you be able to examine it and find out what the others are.

Oh well I'm off to look for some datadisks

Yeah but I am suspecting that this needs to be fixed as well, anyone know on which planet the parts for repairing a corrupted datadisk are dropping on?

Ive found datapad parts in randomn places...low level NPC's on Tat, Tuskens, u name it. As for the viewscreen I heard the best place to loot the peices are from Binyare Pirates on Talus.

Except for that fact that nothing has ever dropped the viewscreen parts on Live.

So, has anyone who's on TC heard or seen anything about when the second pass will be and/or what will be in it? Cause I've yet to see anything about the item/s that will fix the corrupt datadisks to make them useable. I've seen posts indicating that the viewscreen parts are dropping on TC, but not in Live. Anyone have any insight?

Are you sure u put 4 (four) parts in fifth?

Because I read on any part that I need:

1. Broken Datapad

2. Datapad Backlight

3. Datapad Connectors

4. Datapad Casing

5. Datapad Battaries

I have:

Datapad Housing (and I suppose this is not a casing), where i can put other parts, it shows 0/5.

I put in it:Broken Datapad,Datapad Backlight,Datapad Connectors,Datapad Battaries (probably two times - and it ate them both). Nothing happened. I hope this means I need casing. If not SOE owe me 500 000Cr I spent on connectors or working datapad.

BTW all parts can be looted in Aakuan Champion Cave (POI near Nashal on Talus) or from Aakuans killed on missions from mission terminals.

Yeah Rasst, I did the same thing you did. Those are supposed to be all of the parts needed, but when you put them all together, it just eats them for most people. I heard someone had a CSR tell them that the working datapad-thing is currently bugged and had gotten thier parts "refunded" to them but when I sent in a ticket, I was blown off (go figure). Best thing to do is not feed anymore parts to the housing unit until someone at SOE either fixes it or starts telling the truth about how to use these parts. Dont ya just love it when the brag about new content and it ends up being broken from day one?

I have compleated one as well, and have tried putting all kinds of disk's in it, nothing. I have found a corrupted datadisk and tried that it dont work either. Probably bugged, so Ill just hold on to it for future use.

datapads can be looted as completed. they use datadisks created from corrupt datadisks (but already completed disks can be looted as well).

it creates the "story" datapads that are able to be looted from the dwb and i think there's a dozen different ones.

There is a bug when putting all the parts into a datapad, but once all the parts are in the datapad housing, it creates a "datapad (empty)" It is just scary and gives the illusion that your parts are being deleted, but they are not. IE you cant put 2 batteries into one houseing. So dont be worried about the "loot hole" the peices are in there.

I read on another forum something about now you have to fix a "currupt datadisk", and it listed some parts, but now i cant find the forum. Does anyone know who drops the parts for a "currupt datadisk", and the currupt datadisk itself. I have like 7x "datapad (empty)" and i want to complete these things
