Thread: Holocron question...

To unlock your force sensitive slot, you must master 5 professions. These professions were chosen randomly at character creation.

A holocron will reveal one of these holo professions, but never the last one on the list. Hence, you can get a maximum of 4 hints from the holocron. The last profession you must find on your own. Holo will be "silent", saying you must find your own path.

The profession revealed is based on the order your list was created (eg randomly), except for those holo professions you had mastered already. For example, if you had mastered Creature Handler and if one of your holo professions happen to be CH, a holocron will not say CH.

It doesn't matter what your current professions skill are, the holocron will reveal the next profession on the list. Since the list is random (or generate by an algorithm so obtuse no one had cracked yet), don't bother guessing what's your "secret" list is.

And, yes, even if your current profession is on the list, the holocron may not reveal it. For example, if you're 3444 Bounty Hunter and use the holocron. It may say Image Designer. Than 3 holo later, say Bounty Hunter. Remember, the holocron reveal in order the listed was created, not based on your current character.

Advice is to finish whatever professions you're working on.

The holocron is specific when you 'Use' it. My first holocron told me that I must Master Architect. It will only tell you to master a profession that you have not yet mastered. You will be able to use 3 or 4 holocrons before they stop telling you a profession to master and go 'silent'. Not mastering professions before you get/use holocrons will help in identifying a pattern or a clue to which path you need to take at the end, because the holocrons only get you so far. You may end up needing to master all the basics and start guessing at elite professions until you guess right. Read the Jedi Forum for more information.

One more thing, if you use a holocron and had not finished mastering that profession and you use another holocron, that will tell you the same profession as the first one (eg you had just wasted a holo).

No i havent actually got a holocron yet. But at the moment i am novice in creature handler scout and marksmen. What if my holocron tells me to follow the path I am on. then how do i know which of my 3 professions i need to master?

If you haven't mastered anything yet then it wont just say continue on your path.

hop over to the jedi forum. There are posts and posts and posts of answers and theories and guesses that'll make your head spin.

These are the most useful.

One word of advice--never post a message asking for help in the profession forum with "holo" in the subject. You'll be flamed. And don't ever say "I hate this profession and only doing it because holo told me". You'll be roasted and then flamed.

I had mastered most professions, so I can answer most questions you have.

Holocron will always say "to continue your path". Just a phrase. Doesn't mean anything.

Doesn't matter if you created a brand new account and have done nothing. The holocron will say "to continute your path".

The Sith will say absolute power. The Jedi will say enlightenment. Again, neither mean anything. They both do the same thing.

Just master the profession the holo tell you.

I've heard from multiple sources about a change in how you get your FSCS unlocked... Something to the effect of, take your holocron to some NPC and he gives you a series of quests.... Please help me. (Newb to Holos!)

Also... My first holocron told me to Master Ranger, and i'm at 0/1/2/3 is it even worth mastering if the system is gonna change?

I am reading the original post a bit differently. I read it as a question on how is it being done now on Test with the changes coming and not on how it's currently done, i.e., doing the holocrons 'til you get a silent one. We have been told we will be doing a series of quests. As far as I know, we just don't have the details yet on how the new system is being implemented and it's anyone's guess.

I am sure this has already been answered, but I thought that you had to master 6 professions, and the holo gave you three to four.
But as I read the new Jedi revamp, someone mentioned that they would only master the four they were given then quit.
Is it only four professions that one has to master? It's just a hug pain guessing your silent one?
Thanks in advance, I appreciate it
