I did it this way:

name your macro halfspeed:

/throttle 0.5;

set the icon on your toolbar (I used slot 00 for ease)

name another one fullspeed:

/throttle 1.0;

set this icon next to the first one (I used slot 01)

Voila!

simply hit F1 for half speed, F2 for full speed.

You can slow down quickly for fighting, and speed up again quickly for chasing down the next one.
