Thread: Player Bounties, will we ever see them?

I think this is fairly simple. If you take a bounty hunter mission where the mark is an actual player, that player is open to attack from you (the BH), and at the same time the mark can attack you. Simple, yet effective.

No, we will never have player bounties. People are milquetoast and would cry when they got bountied.

I don't think we will ever see player Bounties but... here is an idea

If BountyHunters worked for factions. As in you get -5000 Jabba faction, a warning will come up that Jabbas really mad... kill any more Valerians and you will get a Bounty on you. The Bountyhunter would get his missions from the head of the faction <Jabba>. This way its not random, you need to kill alot to go -5000 in any faction and it does not hurt the "mark". Jabba pays the bounty and the "mark" loses no money. He may have to clone and come back for his stuff but thats it.

That would be neat... It would make Bounty Hunter alot more interesting and faction points mean something.

There will be Player Bounties implemented. I forsee it sometime after the Space Expansion. In the meantime, just work your way to Master BH, join a faction, buy some great weapons, and network so when the time comes, you have a fighting chance and don't geta bounty placed on you for failing a mission.

I think that the devs have already decided to add bh missions sometime in the future. If you go to the city of Moena on naboo you will see Bounty Hunter Mission Terminals. I can't see any other reson for them to be there if BH missions were not being planned.

Ehhh, most of the people I've talked to on Bria want to be commando's or smugglers, not bounty hunters.

I think the majority of bounties will in fact be on bounty hunters cause failing a bounty mission i think will be fairly easy cause theyre hard, gotta go all over the galaxy to get to the target, you get there and the target has buddies, target rips you up as buddies heal him.. could be pretty tough, then that hunter gets a bounty on him.. oh yea, im one of those guys whos gonna be a bounty hunter =)

nshivelle, Those terminals work now, you get more credits for doing BH missions. Of course those are only for bounty hunters.

The talk I saw was that there would eventually be missions from NPC's you could take that would be real hard but with great reward, if you failed one of these then there would be a bounty put out on you. You would already have agreed to the PvP part of it when you accepted the mission.

Well, bounty huneters, in order to be a bounty hunter i believe you dont actually have tobe a master bounty hunter, a friend of mine told me he was hunted by a bounty hunter, a real person not a NPC, maybe he is lieing but i highly doubt it, he told me the bounty hunter got 700 for his kill. Not sure if this is true but im preety sure he isnt lieing.

Also, it will take a long time to become a MASTER bounty hunter, but to beceom a bounty hunter definetly not a year. you have to master 2 professions, marksman and scout, if you paly freguently you can do that within a month or two, ive seen masters inmarksman and scoutprofession sand its been waht 3 or 4 days this game has been out, another 4 days thats 2 professions, then you can become a bounty hunter.

I believe that when you take a mission that has a danger of bounty hunting if failed, you are notified and therefore give your consent when you take the mission.

Well if you killed a valarian, jabba would like you more....but I hear ya. I remember reading that smugglers had to put down deposits on their jobs, of say 5000 credits. If they fail, then that deposit will pay a BH to get them. Perhaps by taking these jobs you accept this possibility.

Actually, they've already stated that there *will* be player bounties. This was fact from before the beta. (though I guess you needed to be following their dev statements to know this) So everyone who most likely must be somewhat new to the development of SWG, be assured that player bounties are definitely in the game. (believe me, they wouldn't have bothered with the class had it not been) They have however been extremely secretive about how it will be implemented and won't answer questions about how it will work. Sooooo... we're left wondering on how they devised it. But at the very least, that's much better than not knowing whether it would be in the game or not. LOL It's funnier to me to see the people that have chosen to become a bounty hunter, but didn't even know whether or not they'd be able to kill players! That's dedication to a profession! hehe. I can't imagine how boring that would have been only interacting with NPC bounties. Hardly worth the price of admission guys! Anyways,I have a bunch of the dev logs saved off on my pc from the last year, if anyone *has* to have the one (or two) that talk about the player bounties being in the game, I could probably dig it up.

One last comment... you can always tell the people who are worried about PVP interaction, they're the ones who swear up and down that PVP bounties aren't being implemented when they haven't a clue. LOL!
