Are you using the modal or non-modal interface?
Or... Use one with 2 extra buttons, one on each side. Bind one to alt, and one to double-click. Best thing I ever did.

I have it this way too and talk about a wrist saver! I love it!You have to do it from your mouse program like Microsoft's Intellipoint as I haven't found a way to do it in-game.

Hey Th why waste time with this post and adress all the coming nerfs? There are many upset and cancling pre orders if what I read is right.
It seems silly to cancel a preorder over nerfs that may or may not happen. For example, the changes to certain elite mobs being immune to some state effects has been changed.
For what it's worth, tThis is exactly why TH wanted people to not talk about some of these changes. It has now gotten a lot of people riled up, when the changes are going to be tweaked to work the best with how the game will be post-publish 24.
Here's a fun tip that I found.
There is a command for space called "/throttle". It takes as an argument a number between 0 and 1 (inclusive) which is your throttle in percentage. So, if you want 33%, the command is "/throttle 0.33"
For X-Wing,Tie-Fighter style controls, make and bind two macros: one for 0.33 and one for 0.66. This will allow you to easily change your speed which can be a lifesaver.
Be warned though, it spams a dev debug message when you use it, making your groupchat and guildchat very hard to read. ![]()
Is this possible using the in game system or does it require the use of third party software?
Also do two others for space. Bind a key to /cycleTargetOutward, and another for /cycleTargetInward
This helps a lot when you're trolling for level 4 bombers amid all the level 3 fighters when grinding in Kassyk space.
For the rare few, (one? Imaginary one?) of you who have YET to visit the force sensitive village. Before you go, you can email yourself the waypoint. My, admittedly old, experience is that when you get there, the waypoint dissappears. Makes it a little easier to find again, although the actual coordinates are under ctrl-j, just show the completed quests to find them.
If you are aboard someone elses ship, ejecting is a quick ticket to the starport you last visited. If it is your own, ...well, don't do it, but /quitting out works, provided you wait long enough to return, (and don't mind being a sitting duck for a few minutes.) Also, if you're aboard someone elses ship, you can talk to the station and go ahead and land. The ship won't come with you unless it's yours.

To make one button that handles automatically calling, mounting and dismounting, do something like as follows.

crate a new macro called tarclose or something like that
containing:
/ui action targetSelf
/ui action cycleTargetOutward
and bind it to ctrl-t or somethign like that.
also make a couple of macros like:
/tar speederbike
/tar av-21
/tar swoop
Here, I had to add /pause 1
/mount
You can also put a pet into this by targetingits name.
My veractyl is named (Charles-Wallace)
So you put in /tar (Charles-Wallace) above- to make it target your pet/mount by substituting your pet's name for (Charles-Wallace)
and another with
/dismount
i have those bound to ctrl-alt-m (mount) and ctrl-alt-d (dismount)
put your bike in the last slot on a second or 3rd toolbar and
/ui action toolbarPane01 (2nd toolbar)
/ui action toolbarSlot11 (last slot)
/ui action toolbarPane00 (back to 1st toolbar)
i bind these to ctrl-1 and ctrl -2 (i keep a spare bike )
this lets you call & store your bikes instantly. really nice when you roll up on a mob you want to kill, just hit ctrl-1 and store the bike and come out blazing as soon as you hit the ground
/tar speederbike
/tar av-21
/tar ("pet's name")
/mount

Hey, Thunderheart, speaking of settings with your alt key, I have been experimenting with the SWG modeless interface which I think works very well. The only problem is that I cannot switch to it because my character looses the possbility to start typing commands/chat. Cannot hit enter to start, and cannot just start like the modal interface. You hit a key on the keyboard and nothing happens.Could you please look into this?
The way it is supposed to work is that you should just be able to start typing, exactly like the modal.
1. Finding who is online from you guild:
Do /chatroom who guild.12345.guildchat
where 12345 is your guild id.
To find your guild id: on the "join chat channel" window, select "SWG", "YourGalaxy", "Guild", then guildid is the number you see there. if you see more than one guild id's there, your guild id is the one that has a Guildchat chatroom in it.
It is very nice who is online of your guild, a feature I missed very much in SWG till I found this tip. To have your whole guild on your friends list is not very liable.
2. Quick listing of items in vendor:
All merchants hate the vendor interface. If you have many items that went to your stockroom, it is a pain to list them again. To make it easier, I retrieve all items of the same price into my inventory. Then I go to the sell mask, enter the price, click the first item and press enter, viola the item gets listed again with the correct price. Rinse and repeat till all items are listed.
This one saved me a lot of time, after 18 months of endless mouseclicking and cursing on the interface.
3. Easily decorate your house:
First make you a button bar with hosue decorating macros, like MoveForward20 = /move forward 20 , RotateL45 = /rotate left 45 etc.
Then get you a chair place it in front of whatever you want to decorate and sit down.
Now you can drop the items and move them in position and know allways exactly how they compare to allready placed items.
How often did you tried to decorate with several items postioned exactly together and then accidently moved your mouse our your character and you had to start over ? While sitting on a chair this is no problem.
And an extra tip:
Get you a mouse with 8 programmable buttons, thats even better than programming key commands ![]()

I only use the SWG Classic interface, with point select active (the non-mouselook type one), and yes I can definately see the advantages of setting it for a dbl-click ![]()
Every other interface available just seems extremely clumbsy for me
